Former Luton Town striker Ricky Miller has been charged with five offences in connection with a racially-aggravated assault on a taxi driver.
Mr Miller, 26, of Valence End, Dunstable, was arrested following an alleged incident in Hockliffe, Bedfordshire, in April.
He will appear at Luton Magistrates' Court later this month.
A second Luton Town player, Shaun Whalley, who was also arrested, will face no further action.
Mr Miller, who played as a striker for the League Two side, had his contract terminated "following an internal investigation into a breach of club discipline", a spokesman for the side said.
He faces one count of racially-aggravated common assault and one count of assault by beating.
The footballer has also been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke violence and one count of racially aggravated use of threatening words or behaviour.
What a silly boy!!
-
I wonder who will give him a chance??
-
He be lucky to walk a free man as this is not the first offence
-
Absolutely, he could be eating porridge after this.
I can't understand how anyone can be so foolish. He had a chance to play full time football and messed it up. Now, if he doesn't get time, will anyone be willing to give him another chance?

Saw him play for Dover when he was on loan there; had a decent game, innocent until proven as they say :police:

Mr Miller, of Valence End, Dunstable, pleaded not guilty to all three charges and was bailed by Judge David Farrell QC at Luton crown court.
His trial is due to start in the warned list for 26 October this year.

Always interesting to see what ex players do after they retire. David Farrell was a good winger back in the day.

Question is will Dave be biased due to the Boston link?
-
Not the same David Farrell. :-\

You will have to "Judge" for yourself!

Hmmm, same shaped nose, wrinkles around the eyes ....

There would be a resemblance if the guy at the bottom was wearing a Boston United shirt like the guy at the top. It's an open verdict.

David Farrell, footballer was born in 1971. David Farrell QC became a qualified lawyer in 1978. You do the maths.

It could be him, looks to me like the guy at the bottom is wearing a wig
