So if you believe this......

....it's us v Guisley.
-
It's all academic as a few weeks ago I called it early ... 'season over' :)

And a Play Off final at Fylde, perhaps!

I think all play off talk should be banned until we have officially made it..... Still a long way to go yet with plenty of twists and turns to come I'm sure!
-
Thanks for info

Got to agree with Beefy. Don't count your chickens and all that.
Anyway all the talk about play offs will be irrelevant, we are going to be number 1 and get automatic promotion.

Thought I'd bump this thread to the first page as I dare to believe we may actually make it

Now we're there I think we can talk about this topic again.
I'm not yet convinced that Barrow will finish as champions. Fylde are at home to Gloucester next week and I expect a home win there. That means that Barrow will have to win as well. But Barrow haven't travelled too well this season, losing some of their longest distance trips at Boston, Brackley and Gloucester. Next weekend they're away at Lowestoft - another very long journey for them. A draw wouldn't totally surprise me, and that'd be enough for Fylde to take the title on goal difference.
I hope I'm wrong. Whoever finishes second would get home advantage in any play off final, and Barrow's record at Holker Street is formidable. I'd see Fylde as more beatable opponents than Barrow.
-
Whoever doesn't win the league out of Barrow and Fylde will be under big pressure to win the Play Offs.
-
Gloucester unbeaten in 7 and are flying at the moment - pressure will be off them.
-
Don't care really, would anyone have worried pre season who we might or prefer to play?
No,everyone would have just been over the moon to be there. That's his it should be so bring on anybody
-
B Grimes, as you've answered your own question then that's that ! Pre season we probably would have seen getting to the play offs as a real bonus. Now we've been on a run and made it, talk will naturally turn to who we might fancy out of those in the mix.
But what do I know ? I said season over a couple of months ago :)
-
I would prefer Chorley over Guiseley. Even though we beat Guiseley 5-1, they are a better team now than they were then. Plus our record there is poor, and we lost against them at the same stage in 2011.
Saying that it's all about form in the play offs, and if we can hammer Leamington that will set us up nicely, especially if we can keep finding the net at home as often as we have this season.
-
IT don't matter who we play just bring em on.

^ This, I've been pondering the home/away first leg thing. As long as we avoid the Flyde/Barrow fall out away midweek I don't think it matters.
I wouldn't want to be Barrow or Flyde having to make the long trip south here straight after the season end, knowing our home record and support.
Likewise if you're Chorley or Guiseley (esspecially the later) then you wouldn't want to leave yourself needed to come to York Street needing anything other than to cling on if we held the second leg.

As we cannot finish above Barrow/Fylde, we cannot play them away midweek in the 1st leg. The higher-placed team gets the home game 2nd.
Wed 29th
5th v Barrow/Fylde
4th v 3rd
Sat 2nd
Barrow/Fylde v 5th
3rd v 4th

Bit worried by the talk of Dayle being struggling with a hernia.
Wouldn't want him to be missing the playoff games.
