Defty and Joachim are likely to sign.
-
And who's going to pay JJ's wages, is Super Sonic Sotnic on his way back? ;D
check the grassy knoll
-
So they're leaving the best signings till next month ..?
-
I would imagine Joachims wages would have to fall within budget if he did come back.Personally,I'd sooner have Defty.
-
Joachim is past it. He only scored 8 goals in 39 appearances for King's Lynn last season. That's about as good as Jon Froggatt was for us. Jon Rowan was twice as good with 16 in 37 and I dare say he would be a lot cheaper than Joachim.
-
You're welcome to Joachim. Wasn't interested at all last season.
Defty would be a blow to lose always difficult for defenders to handle and pops up with his fair share of goals. Mind he struggled to get to training at Lynn and he only lived 5 minutes from the ground so not sure how often he'll make it for you!!
-
There is a great local talent going to pre-season, just wait until the end of the month/start of July and Im sure he will have signed and will definatley create and score goals next season.
-
JJ will not want much money!Apparently he gets his footballers pension shortly.
-
sod jj he aint worth the penny, He was more intrested in been in the bookies than at the ground last he was here
-
JJ never been a profilic goalscorer. Was always difficult to find the best position for him.
Personally I'd put him in an advanced midfield role, supporting the forward(s). You would like to think his experience would prove to be useful at this level.
Let's see if he signs first ;D
-
Can't see JJ signing however i no they have been looking at him as he has said he is willing to take massive pay cuts to what he used to be on!!

Regardless of wages, didn't the managers say something about not having ageing players on the books? Or have I been misinformed?

Yes they did, they also said they wanted players that gave 100% even if not the most gifted. No offence to Julian but he has never been 1 to track back and put in tackles and has relied on skill and pace rather than hard work. So I can't see it myself. Personally don't think he is the right player to be bringing in for this league and surely we must stop this obsession with former players, usually it doesn't works going back for a second spell.

They said they won't have a team full of over-30s

Which team or teams has he played for? how old is he?
-
I dont see any problem with the duo looking at past players as it aint about wether they played here before or not its all about what players can and cant do the job.
-
Maybe Welsh recommended them? In any case as long as they are good signings it shouldn't matter.
-
Welsh had put forward players who he wished to signed however he wasn't given the job but then the new managers do exactly what he was going to do.
-
No doubt the new managers have spoken to Mr Welsh and probably taken his input on board, let's hope that they are all communicating with each other, from Chairman down to the tea lady, full of ideas are tea ladies! ;)
-
bes to get it right how many sugars the Manager wants in his half-time cuppa ;D
-
I hope they have spoken the the chap in the green hat as well Bartmac.
-
I hope so too GHM, make for an interesting conversation!
