It won't be anything we don't already know......

I'm sure though there will be polite applause every time DN,NK or DG speak though, no doubt from many of the same people who clapped like seals when Evans used to spew his guttural garbage.

Sounds like its a chance for the Sports Bar to take a few quid during a quiet period though....... ::)

In all honesty though I'd have come if I wasn't babysitting, at least they end up quite civilized affairs, unlike the ones a few years ago under Fatty McFraud which resembled medieval gatherings for bear baiting and bare knuckle boxing.......... :-\

Very good turn I thought.
No signs of anyone from Woodhall or from a German White goods manufacturer.
The whole project is huge as we all knew but it still needs support from us all.
A click or a signature will help.
7 years of stewardship by the Chestnuts could be in jeopardy without the above.
Don't let complacency set in!

A throughly enjoyable night and all us fans really must step forward and all do our little bit to help the club have a sustainable future. Sign the petition and help make the community stadium a reality, join BUSA for a small fee and send a letter of support to the council. 3 small things we can do to massively help OUR football club. Don't leave it for others to do please stand up and be counted.

Well at least it seems the happy clappers went along last night......... ::)

Shameful stuff re the snide comments on DT,someone who has played for and supported the club for 60+ years. Just because they don't adopt the 'Monkey say, Monkey do' attitude like most on here it doesn't make him ripe for personal insults, his business is his business. If he doesn't want to attend thats his prerogative, like it was mine not to attend; does it make us any less of a supporter? I'd say there's around 100 years of supporting BUFC between myself and DT, but some of you clowns are only interested in toeing the club line, you proved that a few years ago and it nearly cost us our club while you sat back and let McFrauds mob do what they like while clapping them like circus seals at forums......

Gentleman how bizarre that we retort to petty in fighting and deflect attention away from the biggest decision to be made regarding the future of our club, get over it, or get a room, and then unite in the fight to keep our club alive.

What's wrong with being a 'happy clapper', if it means you're interested in what is happening at your club, on and off the pitch?

Better than relying on snippets in the press, and reading some of the stuff on here...

Typical comments from Negative forties(sorry noughtyforties) Not only now am I a happy clapper but I am a 'Monkey say, Monkey do' clown as well”just because I don’t agree with your comments & opinions about the club and how its run, you seem to disagree with most things that go on, and on how the club is run so come on mastermind give us your master plan of how to save this club of ours.

I was at the meeting last night and it is very easy to see there are a lot of fans there who do care deeply about this club and what happens to it, and they were all free (and brave enough) to ask questions about anything that was on there mind about anything to do with the club,
I respect the fact it is your choice if you go to these meetings or not but please don’t slag the people off who do attend with your “snide comments”

ok rant over
cup of tea anyone

Andy you have been an excellent supporter of the club over the years and some of your contributions to the club put many of us to shame .  I,ve been a happy clapper for 65 years and the Evans era was a black period which we never wish to see again  .  If you and others of opposing opinions wish to drag the issue on would it not be better to conduct your opposing views by private discussions or email .  Most of us on Patter fully understand yours feelings but we wish to put that period to bed and look to a positive future .
Those who attended the forum happy clappers or not could only be impressed by the business acumen and hard work of Chestnuts , not to forget the financial backing .
Also we got an insight from DG on the problems of putting together a part-time team .  Not so easy as suggested by us Patter posters !!!!!!!!!

I hardly think you can draw a comparison between those who clapped like seals at the last mob’s bullshit and those who clap Newton and Kempster, and I think it’s highly unfair to castigate those who do as ‘toeing the line’. The last mob put nothing on the line except the club itself, and very nearly lost it on our behalf. The Chestnuts, on the other hand, have a great deal to lose both personally and professionally if – God forbid – this endeavour fails.

Again, the club’s future is at stake, but this is a direct consequence of what happened in the early 2000s - we’ve been painted into a corner by Lavaflow and there is now literally no alternative to what is being proposed. And what’s being proposed wouldn’t just benefit the club and leave it in a far better place than it has been in its entire existence, but benefit the town as a whole. That’s a bit different to the last bunch of profiteering charlatans isn’t it?

And unlike Jon Sotnick, I suspect you won’t find Newton doing a runner and popping up in the Ghanaian diamond mining investment game or whatever the hell it was – he’s a local businessman and the consequences for him will be very real. Which is why it must not fail.

Spot on Pete how anyone could possibly question the motives and commitment of David Newton and Neil Kempster is beyond belief. Last night as David spoke of the day they took on the club he was very emotional and almost broke down. This was during a reply my question of who will run the club when He and Neil hand over control to others and he was talking of "the whole journey from that first day to the day they step aside and complete the journey". It was wonderful to here him say the club will be handed over as "a debt free and sustainable football club". The stadium will not be able to be sold or bought as there will be some kind of contract that will make it a community asset so we will not see some rich interloper coming in trying to take over and aquiring the club as a personal hobby.
If this is seen as happy clapping then count me in, I have attended every fans forum since these people took over and asked many many question but not once have I been assaulted, threatened, and verbally abused like I was with the other lot, and although I will never forget that dreadful evening I have put it behind me and am now a very happy clapper who will be forever grateful to the new regime who have slugged it out for seven years to put the respect back into BUFC and brought into view the the finishing line. Lets have a whole new outlook and enthusiasm and work together to do our bit no matter how small to realise the dream.

Thanks for asking that question Mel, I was wondering about what would happen after the ground etc is complete and was toying with sticking my hand up.....glad you did it :)
Let's not kid ourselves, if/ when it gets finished the Chestnuts will be quids in.
Having said that, if they have been putting in upwards of £100K pa to prop the club up and putting in loads of hours to achieve it then I have no problem with them recouping their investment plus a shed load more :)
Remember that 8 years ago when they came in they had NO guarantees .....only large debts!
I am prepared to applaud in a happy manner, if that makes me a clown so be it......back to Billy Smarts :)

If Evans were to read this thread I'm sure there would be many Glaswegian LOLS at some of the earlier posts, whereas if Newton or Kempster read it they would be wondering why they even bothered.
Sad really that all the Chestnut's good work can be tarnished by the spectre of Evans and Lavaflow in this way.

What in the Lords name are you talking about? The Chestnuts good work will never be tarnished by "Evans and Lavaflow" Indeed it is the good work of David and Neil that has buried the evil of that lot, please explain exactly what you are saying as I cannot fathom it . Let me say that I also said last night that I would be joining BUSA and encouraged everyone to do the same so the planning committee would see that the fans are united behind the planning application and when Glen Chapman addresses them he can do so quoting a healthy number of members adding to his representations.

I agree with everything Oxo has written. Thursday evening reassured me (not that I needed it) that we are dealing with honourable gentlemen. Yes, they stand to gain, but given the work/time/money they've put in over the past 7 years, they deserve it. Do people appreciate how fortunate we are to have had DN and NK's involvement? There is an extraordinary amount of complacency around some (some, I reiterate) BUFC supporters, a point that was raised at the forum (from the floor, I should add). They just expect someone to bail the club out at the last minute without having to do anything themselves - those of us who tried to get a trust going in the dark days know this only too well. We were lucky 7 years ago, but now is the time to get out and do something to help the most positive development for BUFC in years. Write to support the plan, if you haven't, and join BUSA.

Oxo, you don't have to be highly empathic to figure out that David Newton would prefer not to have the past being raked up on a thread supposedly about the BUFC Fan's Forum. Events are now progressing towards the culmination of everything he has planned and worked for during his tenure here. It should be a time of positivity and forward thinking, and not tainted by petty squabbling over past events.

Your experiences with Evans, and his cronies, should make it easier to understand how he would be highly amused to know that the knock-on effect of his antics are still felt at BUFC long after his departure.

Hope this helps  8)

It was mentioned before, at the previous forum.

The grant is allocated to the project as a whole, which includes the stadium - according to DN on Thursday night.
