The new striker that was coming in this week, or is that now last week? Anyway, has anyone heard anything and pleaseeee don't say 'the postman' cos they're all on strike, or will be soon. ;)

Yup. We certainly need a striker. DDs goals on Saturday were two of the softest goals your ever likely to see. The first one, well, after it left his head you'd have thought the ball had the plague the way players stood and watched it roll in. We gotta get a natural goal scorer who's better than this league. Now I know some folks like to see Clarky on the pitch but hand on heart can you honestly say that when he did play he lived up to expectations. He worked 100%, ran after everything, but has he lived up to the hype?
What I'm really saying is, yup, we need a goal scorer.
(And I'm not getting at DD, just commenting on the goals. I think he's great with his feet for such a tall guy, better than Crouchy anyway).

Make you right! DD is very average and he hasn't got the goals in him to score consistently over 40 league games and fire us out of this league.
Clarke had a chance at Lowestoft in the FA Cup and from what i can remember he was put clean through twice, missed both chances and we ended up losing the game. Bit harsh on being judged on a couple of games but that’s how it is.
We need to grab a goal scorer who is sitting on the bench at a club a div or two above us.

Im not sure attacking player is just pressumed as a striker,
Why do we need a big defender,........ we got the Best defence in the league.
As for strikers we are currently scoring as many as any other team.................dont know about you but my mum always said dont fix what aint broken.

Assuming he stumped up for the kit, It was good of Davidson to give something back to the club by making his kid mascot. Let him do it everyweek if it gives us a two goal start!

Nice one DD. Great little tiddler. I can't resist saying what a lot of others have probably thought---Doesn't he look like Canners. Must bring him on again as mascot pretty soon though before he outgrows his kit.

Both of Danny's sons - three year old Jaydan and four year old Mekhai were mascots on Saturday, but I only managed to grab a decent shot of one of them. They looked like they had a good time. Here's the only pic I got of both of them.

Patrick hope not!Been given a name of somebody who plays not many Miles away from Boston.But I dont think hes played in the FL last season but has a good goal ratio!

We already have a player who is a goalscorer and will get us 20+ this season......Marc Newsham.
We don't need a defender - Cannovile Parker and Pearson are doing an excellent job this year.
Yates is doing an excellent job on the wing and provides a very good cross and would be and important signing.
Maybe we need someone else like Clarke - a direct replacement for Newsham if we need to change the game or if he gets suspended or injured.

Is there a striker from Stamford/Sleaford/Deeping we haven't tried in the last year or so? Matson came with a goal ratio like that, as did Clarke I think?

Played uni football with Miles, and Temi who also plays down there.
Miles is rapid but his finishing can be a bit hit and miss. Played England schoolboys back in the day, and as Pilgrim86 said used to be on the books at York St!

Frightening pace is one thing we've been missing since Leabon left, he was worth his wieght when he flew at these aging pub players when fully fit.

This weeks Standard says that a couple of the players we are talking to play lower league football in Yorkshire

Don't know where SWD was playing before this but I do know Ilkeston tried to sign him in pre season. Must be a mate of Canners as well as he was at Notts County

It doesn't matter what reputation you have before you it could be a local young lad starting out or someone like Berbatov on £100,000 a week Spayne road will soon tell you if your not performing. I say get X-factor(a program I do not watch) down to york street and stand them in front of the spayne roaders. Simon Cowell is a pussy cat compared to them.

Spoke to Miles, apparently we made a seven day approach a few weeks back for him but he hasn't heard anything since. He's not too optimistic now we've signed spence.

Yep.... well this is exactly what he said.
"yeah mate, well they put 7 days in for me, but then i havnt heard anything from them, and i think theyve just signed another striker from lincoln city or notts forest or something, so i dont think theyll be calling. "
