Sky News currently have a Spalding Detective appealing for anyone who has knowledge of £60 000 found by a dog walker down by the river.
Re : Incident 154 .
No wonder we couldn't afford to keep Jonah the Whale. The streets must be paved with gold.

GHM, you dropped your wallet mate ;)

Stupid dog walker!

I would've only found 40K ;)

As I understand it the dog walker, or anyone else who finds something, does not have to hand it in to the Police. They should report the find but can retain possession Providing they are and will be in a position to return the item to the loser should he/she ever be located.
How can someone lose £60000 and not realise it unless of course they are ill gotten gains and the loser doesn't want to be found.

Certainly not mine Dip , just checked and they are still secure in the mattrass . In any case my savings is not the modern type notes , I am still on those big white £5 notes .
A good line of enquiry may be to check out if the cash drifted along the river Welland from Fosdyke bridge . a resident may have dropped it in when going home p*ssed from the Ship Inn after having a profitable night at the dogs :P

I would think anyone trying to claim it would find themselves having a long stretch inside. I smell a trap ::) GHM I am still looking for King John's treasure, well that is my excuse when on my hands and knees after one too many sherbets ;)

A brief glimpse of the bag containing the notes after they had been recovered seemed to show that an attempt had been made to burn them. Wasn't there a similar incident adjacent to Frampton Marsh 2 or 3 years ago? A tractor driver saw someone acting suspiciously, trundled over after they had gone and found a black plastic bag containing a large quantity of notes hidden in a dyke. Perhaps this is how money is laundered.
