Aston Villa called off their pre-season friendly at Boston, apparently because they have too many injuries in their development squad. But something doesn't quite add up...

28th July - they've got enough fit players to send a team to Newport
4th August - they haven't got enough fit players to play Boston
7th August - they've got enough fit players again and they're playing Hinckley
I'm disappointed in the way they've messed us about with our pre-season preparations and their excuse simply doesn't ring true. OK, so they'll come next pre-season. But I'm peeved that they've messed us about and no doubt interrupted our manager's preparation plans. If and when they do finally honour the agreement, then I hope it's as a Championship club.

Im glad this has happend, we have a small squad and to ask them to play 2 games in 2 days is not realy good, blessing in my mind.

Villa are massive, one of the top 10 clubs in Britain.
There's no 'think' about it, they ARE a huge club, up there with Spurs, Rangers, Celtic, Newcastle, Sunderland etc in that group of clubs not quite big enough for Champions League but easily capable of pushing on if finances were to allow.

Very huge club , Brian Little had a spell their as manager before he progressed to Gainsborough :P
