Title: Pilgrims' Patter Player Sponsorship
Post by: Ken Fox on June 03, 2013, 05:08:09 PM
It's probably about time I started thinking about all things Boston United again after having a few weeks off.  :bunny

So first up I need to sort out the Pilgrims' Patter Player Sponsorship from last season. There are the home and away shirts of the player we sponsored last season to be given out. We sponsored Tom Ward, so I'll carry out a draw using the Excel random number generator later today to select a couple of names from amongst those that contributed to the sponsorship.

Are people still interested in doing this again for another season? The way it works is that people contribute to the kit sponsorship fee - usually in £5 chunks and hopefully enough people contribute to cover the cost (I think it was about £200 last season). Then at the end of the season we have a draw to select the two people who get the home and away shirts of the player sponsored. So to gauge interest reply to this post if you fancy having a go again this season and say how much you are likely to contribute and any preferences for the player to sponsor.

Next it's about time I began getting my website up to date and in shipshape fashion for next season ...

And the winners are:

Home Shirt: Burton Pilgrim
Away Shirt: Imp Stalker

Get in touch with Craig at the club to arrange collection of your shirts.

We're going to need a few more than two people and me to sponsor a player's kit next season. So are any more of you interested?

We usually pay up within a few weeks of the start of the season, so by the end of September say would be good.

Sorry Ken I thought I'd already promised you a tenner. I don't really care who we sponsor but if pushed, tall is good for me too...

Why dont you sponsor the longest serving playing? It would be nice to show our appreciation to loyal players!

Are we likely to get, or have we any players to sponsor who are tall, good looking, stud like, so that when I wear the shirt next season I will be mistaken for him. Seriously though Ken you can put me down for a tenner (hope its not SWD, wont get the damn thing over my ears ).

Craig has said that if we're short of numbers then there's the option to "half sponsor" Ashley Timms as he's already been half sponsored already. But we'd still get both shirts at the end of the season. Sounds a good deal to me and we're a fair way to having enough promised for the £125 + VAT required already, but what do you all think?

Half sponsor? Sounds about right! Cant see him staying for the full season! Sponsor the longest serving player! Who is it?

Longest serving player is Marc Newsham followed closely by Spencer Weir-Daley. Both probably already have sponsors though and we're still well short of having enough money promised for a full sponsorship so a half sponsorship is looking good at the moment.

Time to get our money to Craig. If you've pledged to contribute then your money can be paid via cash, cheque or credit/debit card at the ticket office - or cheques can be posted to The Jakemans Stadium, York Street, Boston, PE21 6JN addressed to "Boston United" and marked for the attention of Craig Singleton.

Make sure you let Craig know it's for the Pilgrims' Patter shirt sponsorship of Ashley Timms' shirts and what your Patter name is so you get put into the draw for the shirts at the end of the season.

It's still not too late to join in as we're still about £20 short of the full amount if everyone who pledged pays up, so if you fancy contributing then you still can.

Craig tells me we have two Goalkeeper shirts (1 & 13) coming our way for our sponsorship this season.

I'm not sure who actually contributed this season, so could you just confirm whether or not you paid up and I'll then make the draw to see who gets the shirts.

On here the following said they were in:

Seenbetter £10
Swineshead Pilgrim £10
C.B. £10
Ben Grant £10
uncleremus £10
John Chapman £10
Gaz £10
Me £50

Have I missed anyone?

Yes, I paid.

It might be worth dropping Craig a line to see whether he kept a list.

Ken I honestly can't remember, tried to check with Craig but he is on holiday. Whatever I will check with Craig when he returns, if I have not paid I will give it to him or give £20 to be the first to pay for next year.

Craig has told me he can't find his list!   :-[

So I'm relying on honesty this year!
