i'd love to see Millar back here especially as hes scoring bucketloads, but at this mokment we simply dont need a forward like him, in Nesham and SWD we already have two of that type, what we need is a target man and in Jones is that man especially after his recent remarks showed how badly he aparently wants to stay with us

I think it's a sure on thing he will come here. I believe will be a good signing else we will miss out on him cos league clubs been watching him according to stamford forum. I don't think SWD will be retained in summer would say he is one of top earners.

Creating 20-30 chances a game (excepting Harrogate) and only converting 1-2 of them is not an enviable ratio, therefore it would seem a good place to start...and P.S. I'm not his dad!!

Couldn't agree more. SWD misses an awful lot of chances in my opinion. We must start being more clinical in front of goal.

lol ;0) no, not related....just an ordinary guy who likes his football. As far as SWD is concerned, the guy is a cracking player and arguably one of the best forwards in the league and one who definitely should score more goals. As overall league position tends roughly to correlate with goal difference, which at the moment stands at +2, we need SWD do what we all know he's easily capable of...burst that 'onion bag'!! :0)

Looks like Beck Row is correct and he's going gone to Arlesey:

Ricky Miller one of their subs tonight...

Interestingly Nathan and Zema Abbey play there, as does David Galbraith.

Zema is player manager.

They played Coventry in the FA Cup this season, put up a good show too until late goals saw them off.

Another NEXT club.......

Nothing on their official site yet. On Stamfords site it just says he has left after being offered much improved terms dosen't say were he has gone.

Says on their site despite 'unprecedented' deal offered whatever that actually means at stamford?has defintiely gone to Arlsey.Maybe with two contracted forwards and jonsey wanting to stay he felt it wassn't the right time who knows, and thats ofcouse assuming GD wanted him in the first place which i dont think has ever beened confirmed. Anyway more importantly everyone has this season to concentrate on, move on please

Never a good sign to see that many clubs on a CV...usually a sign of a difficult player to get on with or a lack of allegiance :0(

Ill Confirm the Difficult part as he does carry a very bad attitude with the shortest fuss you can find

According to   the Peterborough Telegraph Miller is also playing Sunday league football in Peterborough for AFC Bretton where he has scored 21 times in 5 games (and picked up one red card!)

I really hope he doesn't sign. One of the reasons we did some well under S&H was the positive atmosphere in the dressing room. Wherever miller goes there are problems. Was it this pre-season where he fell out mid-game with Gary King?

21 goals in 5  :o thats what we need  :-\
The atmosphere doesn't matter if we're converting enough of the chances  :dan

A few people are mention his attitude and maybe he has got one who knows i dont, but his attitude has been mentioned befor and i just dont get it. its like thoise who are slagging drury of for reasons i cant work out either, whats the matter with millers attitude. When he was here i remember we all apeared to loved the way he played didnt we? and so to it seems do all supporters of other clubs of he has played which there are many  ;D so if he had one it perhaps it suggests he hasn't now who knows, but if he ever reads the forums he probably wouldnt want to come ;D

when hewas here before Ed it be three- four years ago now i remember we couldn't by a goal we looked nailed on for thedrop and  i tink he he scored about haf adozen goals in something like ten eleven games never stopped running and we escaped relegation by a point i think when i am sure itwas froggat of all people who knocked in a pen in the last home game

why are we getting fixated with this lad, i know some say hes scoring shedloads at stamford but has GD evr suggested he wants to bring him here, i dont remember reading that anywhere has it

Miller was a great signing by Steve Welsh and it  could be argued that without his goals we would have been relegated .
Does he want to come here ?  Yes .     Thats right isnt it Shauney ?
The telling factor is what long term use is a player who moves on up to 5/6 times a season ?

BG is it me , your postings don.t seem drafted up to their usual standard this morning .  Hope you were,nt at the pub with KON last night (giving him freebies ) ;)

Point worth noting that his record last season for Stamford was superb:
Played 31 scored 31.

Can't argue with that and if he scores half that in as many games for us next season it will prove to be a very good signing.

Article here:

http://www.bostonstandard.co.uk/sport/football/miller-s-at-united-for-long-haul-1-5188254

I've read that headline two or three times, and I'm still not sure it's the right use of an apostrophe. Still, the Standard should know its grammar, shouldn't it?

That is correct, shortened version of "Miller is at United for long haul"

Don't know about the headline on the back of the Target though:-

"PILGRIMS TO TARE DOWN DEFENCES", unless of course United have signed a player called Tare.

They have corrected it on their website.

Does using an apostrophe instead of an 'i' shorten the sentence?

Boston Standard makes most mistakes!

And if ever proof were needed, then just read this ...

Boston United fans will be able to rub shoulders with the squad at the Pilgrims’ Community Day.

The event, held on August, 11, will see Dennis Greene’s new signings on show to the supporters.

Both the first team and reserves will be in attendance, meeting and greedting the fans, as well as posing for their pre-season team photos.

The family day will see a whole host of activities for Pilgrims of all agaes, with further details to be released.

The Family Day begins at the Jakemans Stadium at 11am.

It will run until 3pm.

Aside from the spelling mistakes, why is there a comma between August and 11? Should it be Pilgrims' Community Day or Pilgrim's Community Day? And if there is an apostrophe in Pilgrims, shouldn't there be one in Jakemans? Why is "family day" in lower case in one sentence, but in "Title Case" in the next?

Once up on a time you had to have good standards of spelling and grammar to become a newspaper journalist. When and why did that change?

With the advent of "Text speak" no doubt, plus Spellchecker doesn't include grammar and punctuation correction!
