Title: Mikel Suarez
Post by: Winging It on October 18, 2012, 08:44:24 AM
Just seen and heard the news that former pilgrim and popular striker Mikel Suarez is unconscious in hospital following a clash of heads while playing for his club tonbridge angels on saturday. Our prayers must surely go out to this popular lad and hope he makes a quick recovery.

Apparently it was a clash of heads with fellow team mate Lee Browning. Both were taken to hospital to be treated for head injuries. Browning has since been discharged and Suarez is still under observation.

Just been an update on the Tonbridge Angels website:

We have just been advised by Mikel's family that he remains in hospital in the Intensive Care Unit, following his injury on Saturday.

Any further news will be passed on as soon as we receive it.

We all send Mikel our best wishes for a quick and speedy recovery.

Hope he gets better soon.

Changing subjects slightly, it appears that Nathan Koranteng is also now a team mate of Mikel at Tonbridge Angels. Good combination in many respects - speedy winger and striker who is good in the air.

At tomorrow's game how about a rendition of:

He came from Spain in a Transit Van SUAREZ SUAREZ
He plays for £100 a week SUAREZ SUAREZ
He's running up and down the wing
Then you'll hear the Town End sing
MIKEL MIKEL SUAAAAAAAAAAAAAREZ !

Here's hoping for a full recovery

"I am pleased to advise that the Club has received confirmation that Mikel regained consciousness yesterday evening and
whilst it is still early days, it is seen as a positive step forwards.

Now out of hospital, according to Lee Canoville on twitter.

Also confirmed by the Tonbridge Angels website:-

Tommy Warrilow received a phone call from Mikel this morning!.

Mikel has now been released from hospital and is at home with his family. He is obviously still very tired and he is likely to be that way for a few weeks whilst starting the road to recovery with physio etc.

He can't thank everyone enough for their messages of support and would like to pass that message on.
