My mates 74 year old father was attacked last night because he was English! Walking from Woodville Road Co op some non English person asked him if he was English! As a result he has cuts on his head and passed out!
Defend this one ! I guess it will the do gooders who stood up for the Bob Lee incident last time!

Mark, I don't recall anyone defending the incident you refer to, it was agreed all round that the theft of an old lady's purse was despicable. The complaints were against Bob Lee's unevidenced assumption that the guilty party belonged to a certain racial group. You've posted a comment that you believe to be fact, no defence required.
What I don't get is the follow-up post referring to the tragic, unexplained death of another human being.......not sure what your point is Steviemas?

If one is to meander around the town centre during the early hours it is quite possible to be attacked for no good reason by English scum.

anyone should be allowed to go about their business as they see fit without fear of attack
i have personal experience of two occasions where assistance was needed due to injury, and the first to offer medical help were eastern european "scum" whilst indeginous local people stood back and laughed.

I think one of the best arguments in favour of continued immigration is how much it winds up people who put forward utterly ridiculous and illogical arguments on it, eg:

don't think anyone could argue about the behaviour of english scum as there are certainly plenty of english/british individuals who are pure evil
i think what annoys people most is that these foreigners (whatever nationality) are visitors to our country and as such we perhaps would appreciate a little more respect towards our culture
think of it like throwing a party and your mate brings their mate with them and that mate gets drunk and trashes your room,urinates on your carpets and smashes your tv - you'd be a little annoyed at the lack of respect shown by this 'visitor'

We had this post last year, I remember Bob getting a right slating.
What KON is saying, is this is a race attack on a pensioner.
Bob's was a theft that was done by a foreign national.
Either way Boston has a problem, too many and not enough work.
The town should get extra funding, look at the strain on all the services.

I'm not disputing whether it is true or not, I'm highlighting how stupid it would be to form an opinion on thousands of immigrants based on the above.

OK, some don't. But unless you're saying that significantly higher proportions of immigrants don' compared to locals, then it's a null issue anyway. If you did say that, I'd argue you're wrong.

You're inferring that you want to focus on those who don't, otherwise you wouldn't be making the 'correction'. Moreover, I only put forward that the thing to judge is that if 'they' (the migrant population as a whole) 'pay their way' or not. I never said that each and every single immigrant does.
Sorry to be pedantic, but given the number of strawman arguments used on the last thread on this topic it's clearly necessary - not that I have any intentions of getting in to that debate again. I'll stick to picking holes in daft things people post...

Taking a step back, if we look at the origins of mankind we will see that we are by nature tribal animals. Therefore it follows that our natural instinct is to reject the interloper. A sketch from the likely lads has Terry complaining about Germans when he has returned from army service. By the end he has written off foreigners, non-Geordies, people from other streets and the next-door neighbours. We all have this natural tendency buried in us, but we are supposed to be civilised and should be repressing our feelings. We have been given the gift to think for ourselves and to overcome our nature in the cause of civilisation and humanity.
The bottom line is that racism or tribalism is uncivilised. As has been said by many on here and elsewhere, there are good and bad in all societies, so let's leave it there and move on.
Localised problems like overcrowding, competition for jobs, etc., may need to be sorted, but we need to try to be open, honest and fair, or we'll go nowhere.

I have. One post will be complaining about foreigners coming to Britain to live off the welfare state, the next will be about them 'stealing our jobs' - and elsewhere both posters will be agreeing with each other - it's fantastic! I think the best approach to that page is to take it with a light sense of humour - I'm trying to block out the idea that that's the way in which a significant number of Bostonians actually think. I love it when people quite seriously and sincerely refer to the The Daily Mail when making any sort of point.

By "leave it there and move on", I thought I was suggesting that we leave our prejudices behind, and my final paragraph was to consider dealing with the practical problems rather than forming preconceptions. I am certainly not denying that there are problems.

I suspect many making comments on the subject do not mix or socialise with immigrants . From my experience with immigrants I can say that the majority of them would join in condeming the scum whatever nationality the culprit.
I think most wish to be judged by their actions and behavior rather than a load of political propagander distorted or otherwise .

I'm half "immigrant" anyway - I doubt there are many on this board who don't carry a few "immigrant" genes somewhere in them....if there are, does that make then "inbred".
As far as I'm aware my Welsh and German bits are 100% scum free.

We are all descended from immigrants somewhere along the line. Depends which wave of immigrants/ invaders your ancestors came across with. The Celts, the Romans and all their baggage, the Angles and the Saxons, some good German bloodlines there for those who profess to be Anglosaxons. The Vikings, the Normans (descended from the Vikings). the regular influx of Jews especially during the Pogroms, the French Huguenots, the list goes on and on.
Taking someone born in 1950, going back 14 generations to approximately 1600, they have 16384 direct ancestors, so there's a good chance that there is an odd ball or two and a couple of Johnny foreigners in there somewhere.

not really as spilsbys not exactly a migrant worker hotspot. The thing is the original post made it sound like EVERY migrant worker is the same. I've worked with some and have got along, this is an isolated case. The problem is theres more racism towards the migrants than there is towards the english. Bostons population seems to be fed up with the migrant workers but theyre here to work unlike alot of the population who sit on there arses all day claiming benefits.

Growing up in the Fenside area as a child i remeber many of the local residents could not work due to long term diability issues
The same people cannot work now because, although their long term disabilities have cured they cant get jobs because the polish have their jobs.
When the Euro sorts itself out and they return to their hoelands, i would imagine that people will again have bad backs from sitting on their settees because they didnt have a job.
The people that moan that they cant get housing tend to be (and not in all cases) stupid little girls from the "families" who deliberately get pregnant ( i know this for fact in several cases) because they can get their own house and their family can extend its empire.
Boston has its own scumbags, we know who they are who would be better off dead as they drain our society. Likewise the forigners have their own scumbags.
On a tangent, to guage the feeling of the population of boston, look on Facebook for Boston Examiner and the abuse he/she has recieved for suggesting that Mr Sleaford, the accused of the murder of the foregn chap is anything other than a local hero.
I have overheard a few conversations where he has been congratulated for whathe has done and how if a few more did the same we would be better.
Our town is a sh*thole people. Face it. And its got like this because all of us law abiding people have allowed it to do so by not kicking up a stink when the council f*cks us over and by electing w*ankers like the bypass independants and extreemist politicians like Councillor Fountain.
If you dont like our town do something or shut up about people trying to earn an honest bob, and trying to make them out to be bad people just because some of them are tw*ts.
