and counting!
Well done to all tonight, as one of the managements fiercest critics I'm big enough to offer praise where its due and its due tonight.
Lets finish the job off in the New Year, do the double over the clowns and put Swann and his pipe dream to bed for another year........... The Town End ought to get one of those clocks that Man Utd had for Citeh up to this year, showing how long its been since they won anything worthwhile!
-
I'd rather ignore them, far more irritating for them if we don't consider them a rival.
-
Sadly its as good as its going to get for a few years........unless Lincoln or Grimsby REALLY mess up!
They have pretensions of being serious rivals but in reality they are like one of those annoying turds that take 3 or 4 flushes to get down the U bend really!
-
Lincoln look decidedly dodgy at the moment if anyone is going to mess up it'll be them, nice analogy though, couldn't have put it better myself.
Well done lads, great result. :)

I wasn't able to go yesterday, but a big well done to the club for that performance. It sounds like we really played well.
It has made for a great weekend. Milnes is starting to find his feet at this level by the sounds of things.
-
Like Wembly 85 I did,nt make it yesterday , Looking at Kens photos it look as hundreds of Gainsboro fans failed to turn up .

Think its awful you slagging off a volunteer,
Our website guy, is just a volunteer nothing else, and for what he does i think he deserves some credit.
would you do your job to the best of your ability with no pay? i think not...
i do agree you have a fantastic setup at your place and you should all be proud of that, and yes i know Peter Swann should pay for a Media guy, would be a good asset to the club, Craig at your place is a fantastic example of this.
Congratulations on your win yesterday, thoroughly deserved.
Good luck for the rest of the season.
-
If your volunteer cannot string two sentences together, maybe he shouldn't be doing an official website? Or at least have it proof read by someone with at least 1 GCSE?
Or did Swann do it himself?
-
Surely he's too busy picking the squad and managing them from the dugout, to have any time to showcase his journalism skills P86 :P

Well it is all for Movember - You can sponsor Ryan and help him raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men. 8)

Well done to Ryan Semple for helping to raise funds for prostate cancer etc,
But please Semps, take a bit of friendly advice and don't stand around on the pitch with your hands on your hips, us old un's on Spain road really get wound up about it, that pose gives the impression you are not interested in the game that is being played around you, good luck with your fund raising.

When I put the radio on earlier Trinity were 2-0 up against Halifax in the play-offs. Just put the radio on again, and the latest is 2-2.
Still messing things up ..... after 44 years!
-
Attendance around 2,400 apparently, though most of them will be Halifax.

... the sooner we get out of this tinpot league, the better things will be.

The match report isn't much better, no mention of Guiseley's 91st min equaliser !:
Meanwhile, Danny Glover's second-minute goal handed Nuneaton Town the advantage over Guiseley as they earned a 1-0 victory in their first-leg encounter.
The Lions barely had the chance to blink before Glover put his side ahead, and although they were unable to add to their tally, Boro would manage to keep their opponents out, taking a valuable goal into their second-leg tie on May 6.

How happy am I that this thread's been resurrected?
Come on Massivefax, keep Grimity where they belong for another season, Swann can't fund this for ever.
-
I see Grimity are having to bribe fans to attend the final play off leg...how sad.
-

Swann can't fund this for ever.
Neither can The Chestnuts. It's also worth taking on board the Darlo thread..
-
not messed up yet.
-
Good crowd for them yesterday but will their chairman continue to subsidise away travel? Will his wife get fed up with giving him his pocket money every week? Will they survive on the crowds they usually attract? If they win the play-offs I can't see them stopping up
-
I can see him shitting a brick when they have to up the wage bill to Conference levels, he's already paying out stupid wages now, if they go up every greedy agent for miles around will be knocking on his door demanding stupid wages for piss poor footballing mercenaries........
They'll be fecked by the time this 'adventure' is over.

damned if you do and damned if you don't! Still think we should go and support Nunny to spoil their party.
-
its all ticket now.
-
I,for one would like to be in their position. How exciting for the fans who have waited so long.We can't laugh at there 40 odd years of mediocrety then deny them there moment of glory while we are mid table Blue Square North seemingly going nowhere with our continued budget cuts after budget cuts.
-
we can deny them their moment of glory because its totally manufactured, the product of one mans ego trip. Its a car crash waiting to happen.
-
That won't stop them playing a league above us. Only Nuneaton can do that.
-
we can deny them their moment of glory because its totally manufactured, the product of one mans ego trip. Its a car crash waiting to happen.
Not the fans fault Andy. Swann is a local so who's to say he wont stick around you never know in football. Just think how we felt when we won the Doc Martens good luck to them I say.
-
Agree Tash good luck to them!

Yep.
And when we won the Doc Martens that was also totally manufactured and we were a car crash waiting to happen. The joy of promotion after so many years of being crap was great, but we're still suffering the hangover from that era today.
-
And thats why I'll never aknowledge any of McFraud's 'Achievements' here........as far as I'm concerned the club didn't exist during his tenure. Those two 'titles' are completely meaningless, the club should remove both from its honours list in the programme and send back any trophies to the leagues concerned.
-
its alright. Mr Swan seems to believe they have overachieved this season
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18007940?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
overachieved? imagine if they'd done it on a realistic budget for their attendances
-
With my business being located in Gainsborough I am having to take a lot of stick from my guys after our really poor and fragmented season. I would add that I fully understand why we have struggled and will be in the queue for season tickets as usual.
I then asked how many of the 25 guys will be attending the final......................thats right, none. they all say it is a plaything doomed to failure as and when Mrs swann tells hubby to leave it alone. They also expect that getting into the conference will add maybe 100 to the hardcore support, with any significant attendance rises coming from away support.
What you also need to nderstand is that Peter Swann is doing all this pushing of the club forward, totally at odds with the Blues Club who will not sell him the ground and I understand have removed all contributions they used to give to the club. None of the 400 or so who attend want the move to the new ground and are set against anything he does.
-

I suppose you want a refund for all the expense you went to, and all that?
It happened - acknowledge it, and move on.
-
One a sympathizer, always a sympathizer.
You were about the last person to finally acknowledge that he was thoroughly rotten and hell bent on destroying the club he fooled you and the very gullible into thinking he loved.........how some people dare show their faces at the ground to this day after the toadying and arse licking they did on his return is beyond me. At least Colin Woodcock had the decency to stay away after his flag waving for that lot........
You'd have him back tomorrow wouldn't you?
-
Completely agree with you Norty40! Atleast we held that banner on that Wednesday night! It's a shame nobody listened to us!
Arselickers,happy clapper,sympathisers!
So My Left Foot and others don't question our loyalty to the club!
-
You'd have him back tomorrow wouldn't you?
No. Next question?
-
Gainsborough 0 Nuneaton 1 @ half time
-
Full time Gainsborough 0 - 1 Nuneaton
-
Money Money Money.. Its so Funny when you win ................................. ,
Say what you like about them been there. But like us last year with the extra admin and appearence fee etc it could cost more.
-
Swann and Housham said they could be heroes and legends. Chokers, losers and tinpot is more like it.
-
Another season of big spending by Mr Swan and Blues still in BSN .
Food for thought for our moaners who are convinced that big spending brings success
-
To be fair to them, you would have to have a heart of stone......................................................................
not to laugh your head off.
-
They've spent an awful lot of money just for the privilege of playing in the same league as us again next season.I'm really gutted for Jamie Yates............... ;)
-
He'll be fine bless him, someone will pop up and offer him more money then he can leave and say, 'i'm going to a better club with more ambition' ;)
check the grassy knoll and the chips and curry :bunny
-
I hope you thoroughly enjoy your day at work tomorrow, travelling man.
-
It will probably be better for them to have lost today, trying to build a side that could compete in the BSP would mean spending even more money they don't have.
Well done to Nuneaton though, remember them going bust when we got demoted from the BSN, sometimes makes you wonder if going bust and starting again would have been preferable in 2007.
-

Nope, our history would have been lost, we'd have to wipe the board clean and build from the bottom. We got very luck with Dave Newton coming in, we're Boston United and we should always be Boston United, not AFC Boston or FC United of Boston.
-
Whilst it would have whiped away the debt AFC Boston isn't what we are I would rather support Boston United and am very proud to. We may indeed be in a better position to attract better players debt free but no thanks.
-
Maybe we wont hear which players have signed until the first pre season session as this will probably be the next time all the lads will be in town to sign BSN registration forms.
-

I doubt they would sign them here. They be taken to most of them i would have thought with most living close to each other
-
According to their chairman a win today was worth £250.000 so after sharing the gate money 3.800 x £12 with Nunny and the league it should have yielded about £20.000 max.
This should allow the new '' all seater stadium '' which he says will be ready for next summer to go ahead, so accepting the norm that a new stadium costs £1000 per seat it appears that 15 of their loyal supporters will have to stand up.
Okay Iv'e had a couple to celebrate Nunnys promotion and will dream sweet dreams tonight.
Pilgrims forever.

The goal:

-
3800 gate?
Someone's telling porkies!
-
Sorry Andy I used the figure that Radio Lincs gave in commentary which I now believe put some 600 onto the actual gate. Blow me nobody gets a seat in their new stadium.
-
2500 would be generous.
The only part of the ground anything like full was the away end.
-
2500 would be generous.

not sure why they would lie about the attendance as they have to share gate receipts
-

They sold 2700 home tickets (a sell out) and over 1000 away tickets.
-
Just looking at that footage of the goal there seems to be a hell of a lot of space on the Nuneaton right for a sell out
-
Nuneaton had 200 unsold.
-
BBC and trinity have it at 3250????. 2700 + 1000????? 2700 should have filled the trinity sheds. they didnt look full to me.
-
Time for another resurrection, me thinks.
-
I so wish they hadn't banned me from their forum after their play off defeat........ ;)
One real positive out of yesterday was the Town End, usually about as atmospheric as a library, yesterday the few on their did their best to create a good atmosphere.......sadly it looks like the people of Boston have turned their back on the club for a while with another dismal gate, but at least we know we'll have more in the bar at half time at The Northolme than they brought yesterday.....
Well do to all on the abuse metted out to Jamie 'football reasons' Yeates as well........I'm sure he'll be the first out of the door this summer when Swann's wallet slams shut, the greedy South Yorkshire bastard.
-
Yes, a dismal gate by Boston United standards but still nearly more than 3 times greater than any other team that played in our league yesterday.
-
Plenty of boston fans winding up their's on their forum - most topics being hijacked - I think they are a little fed up with us - hahahahahahaha
-
Can we make this thread into a sticky?

The last time we scored 6 past Trinity was 20 years ago - Munton and Morrow doing the business...

......err Telford got 1266.......
-
Us, Stockport, Alty and Telford are the only proper clubs in this league........
The shame is the league will almost certainly be won by a rich mans plaything (Ferriby) that has no right to even contemplate playing the likes of the above in anything other than a Trophy game or early round FA Cup game.......same for that lot visiting next week, Brackley. I'll derive a lot more satisfaction beating them than I ever will Grimity purely because when all is said and done they don't deserve to be playing us, they should be across town at FC because when the money runs out thats the level they'll be at.
-

with respect I didn't think that it was a dismal gate......perhaps more may have attended if there hadn't been a doubt about the game actually going ahead and the last pitch inspection being as late as 1-30pm......Despite 20 home goals,3 home hattricks and several penaltys in our last 5 home games,BUFC fans remain a fickle bunch....1200 BUFC fans is not a bad effort everything considered......totally agree though about the great improved atmosphere generated by the Town End.....Also interestingly, perhaps, the atmosphere along the Spayne Road terracing was good aswell.....perhaps the Club should give consideration to roping a section off again in future home games (?!)....

Johnny,
I was referring to the game LAST season, look at the date on the post!
