Not one hundred percent sure but I understand that although the club wanted this, the referee declined on the grounds that there wasn't an official directive from the FA.
Whatever the reason, it is a BLOODY DISGRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why could not common sense prevail?
I am sure that I am not alone with my feelings regarding this. My father fought in the Eighth Army in the last war, my grandfather fought in France in WW1 - fortunately they came back or else I wouldn't be here, but my gandfather lost a brother and a cousin.
Also, with the current problems in Afghanistan, Iraq etc. we should never forget that many brave souls lost their lives so we are free today.
'LEST WE FORGET'.

I agree with you Gus

Well said Gus.

There was a 2 minutes silence this afternoon at Halifax v Charlton and after all the fuss with FIFA last week, I would have thought that it was obvious that a silence had been sanctioned by the FA. Probably a jobsworth.

Sadly Gus is correct and I would agree 100% with his comments.
As an aside the Referee also would not allow the board to be used for time added on at the end of each half. Iit is actualy not required at our level but mot officials are happy for it to be used.

i myself would have liked to see a silence i think like everyone in attendance at the game. Another poor decision from a referee!
