Delighted with todays result at Harrogate. From what ive heard Alan White was masterful at the back and Sleaths inclusion in midfield was beneficial, so thats two wins, two defeats and a draw so not too bad in my opinion. A win against FC Halifax in front of a good turnout on monday will finish the weekend off nicely. Up The PILGRIMS !

Come on you knockers, why don't you try to take the shine off today's game.  Expect you won't like the team selection, setup, energy and management decisions.  Oh! I forgot.  We scored 2, kept a clean sheet, created loads of chances and everyone performed really well.

Just pleased for everyone really and hope the squad can build from here, be given a chance to shine and we can all support whomever goes out there for us.

Great to hear of our convincing win and a much better performance by all. Well done to the managers and players for their efforts. Lets hope we can start to build upon todays positive result. Lets also hope the Boston public show their faith in the team and managers by turning up in numbers and giving the lads a good backing on Monday. It should be a decent atmosphere with Halifax bringing 200 - 300. Really looking forward to Monday.

Well done lads, decent win and and some big calls from the management today such as playing the inexperienced Ward when we needed a win.

Great result against the bookies favorites to win the league. Sounds as though we were very confident going forward and now that Semps is back to full fitness we can be sure that him and Holsgrove will tear defences apart! The addition of Whitey is a very beneficial one for us, and now Sleathy is back we're near enough at full strength. Yes it would be nice to have another striker who is proven to score goals at this level but we should be content with our strike force, when fit Newsh is more than capable of scoring goals, also the last 2 games have proven that JL can still do a job when needed. My only minor concern is if Jelly were to pick up an injury, do we have anyone else who can play at left back?

None the less, fantastic result today, bring on Monday! UP THE PILGRIMS!!

just got in from the harrogate game which was the first game i have got to this season. in the first half i thought we were very good with some good passing football especially between newsham and holsgrove which resulted in a very good goal. we also made it hard for harrogate by closing down and battling hard. semple and holsgrove should have also scored. the second half was very different. we seemed tired and lacked movement and failed to support each other, with the exception of semple who had a very good second half. once stones went off for lee we seemed to have more to aim for which resulted in lee scoreing a very good looping header over thier keeper and just under the bar.
all in all it was good but fitness levels need to improve as does stones. stones was very slugish and slow to react. with suerez back up front in place of stones we have the makings of a good side. the defense looked strong and dealt well with the harrogate pressure.

Defence was much more solid with White back but we have got to hope that Suarez stays fit as Stones a very poor substitute, or that we get another forward signed.

Sleathy also had a good game and showed little effect from his trip to China.

Well done lads and roll on Monday.

Much improved, we matched them and seemed to want to go toe to toe in the periods where it wasn't working.  Playing Ward with White seemed to work and Parker didn't get too exposed down the right.

Just as I didn't get carried away with the defeats, I'll not get carried away with the win although we did show signs of much improvement.

Special mention for Danny Sleath.  Not only did he look good today, he seemed to improve Hall's game too.

A great performance and deserved win for us today. Alan White was solid as a rock at the back and must have helped the confidence of Tom Ward who stepped up to the plate with no problems. Sleath was full of running as was Newsh who finished an awkward chance with a classy touch from a Holsgrove's cross after ten minutes. Liam Parker shifted across to right back and demonstrated his versatility with a solid performance. Our two wingers kept stretching their defence and Semps and Holsgrove could have had a goal a piece before half time. We did seem to tire near the end but dug in despite  Harrogate having one or two chances but Jason's thumping header put the result beyond doubt.
Great support for the Pilgrims and a performance that has left me well pleased I went. Let's get behind the team on Monday and keep the momentum going !
Harrogate have some quality players for this level  : Laurie Wilson  , Paul Brayson (Blyth Top Scorer last season), Peter Bore , Richard Pell and Ian Ross and we made them second best today. Well done lads!

Echo your sentiment about Suarez, we do need another forward with quality, Stones MIGHT benefit from coming on for the last 15 or 20 in games but starting with him is not helping him.

Excellent response from the whole team today though, by that I include the management who I am very critical of, but who I will praise when they get things right.

Hopefully Monday will see a continuation of today's form and a return to winning ways at York St.

A great perfomance from everyone and I mean everyone including the fans.
Every player gave his all today, Whitey looked as fit and as commanding as he has ever done, helping young Tom to his best ever performance. Both full backs worked hard and got forward well. Midfield with the return of Sleathy tackled well and distributed the ball very well out to our two excellent wingers. Newsh was back to his best with a great finish for the fist goal and good hold up work. Now a special word for Mickey Stones who although not my favouite player put in a great shift and caused their central defenders all sorts of trouble, He well deserved the great round of applause he was given by all the fans when he was substituted. As for super sub Jason what a header into the far corner the defender who tried to jump with him was not sent off by the way he was sent straight to hospital to be stitched up while the Pilgrim fans were singing something about the gaffer having the sharpest elbows in the league.
Cracking result lets get there on monday and get behind the lads right from the kick off.

I thought at the time that there was a lot of holding going on, but that picture shows they took the piss. Stones ran them ragged this afternoon,  you can tell when a big forward is troubling a team cos they start to react and argue.  He had them worried from the off and showed some deft little touches for what is in essence, a carthorse.

I feel he'll spllt opinions all season, much as with Danny D last year, Broughton, Jason Lee in his first spell, Graeme Jones.

Go Stones! Whether players actually look at the forums but it can't help when they get slagged off before being given a chance. I reckon he is the sort of player that will score a few /anger defenders/get a few free kicks (may give away a few though). C'mon boston

While some come on here and like myself disagree with noughty forties at times I object to his support being questioned in any way by some posters.
Many know of his work and contributions to the club over the years which puts most of us to shame .
What pleases me most about Andy is that I stand behind him on the Spayne terrace and never does he shout abuse at any players .   and conducts his moans through the Patter.
If we all follow his example YS would be a much better experiance on match days for players as well as supporters.

Second game of the season for me and a lot better than the first!
When we're about ten games in to the season we should have a good idea of this season's potential.
A great looping header for the second goal from one of the two 'shambolic clowns' who manage our club.
Talking of BUFC old-timers, it was refreshing to see Alan White undressed, given a ritual spanking, followed by a brutal mauling, thoroughly rogered and then sent back down south where he belongs!  :dan
Great performance Alan, keep it up!!

Not that he needs me to defend him,but as far as i can tell all Andy has done is question the merits of some of the signings the managers have made.I have been just as vocal myself on that score. However,as i have said before i will not "have a go" at the players during a game, and Andy is the same.
I for one will continue to comment on issues i believe need addressing because i believe that is what an open forum is for. Some need to realise that sometimes questioning the direction the team is taking does not necessarily make you a moaner.
I suspect that those who moan on match days are unlikely to post on this forum anyway.

At the minute you really cannot predict which side we will see!  Yesterday was a huge improvement on VM at home (did not get to Nuneaton so cannot comment) which in my view was in the main due to more energy in the middle of the park.  Sleath's return cannot be underestimated, along with an improving Semple (absolutely tore strips off his full back in the first half before tiring in the second) and a fantastic performance from Ward at the back.  He was excellent and that maybe due to having the wise old head next to him?  Who knows.  Plus a nod to Bazza who has not had a great start to the season but was solid, distributed well and when called upon made the saves required.

As others have said, don't get carried away with the wins in the same way don't get carried away with the defeats.  Five gone and its been a mixed bag.  Not sure what anyone else expected given the changes and reduced budget.

There has been some nonsense on issue.

I am one of the people who have questioned lots that has happened so far this year, but well said Andy and green hats mate. It's very early days, but yesterday was a very good victory, not perfect, but at least things are starting to improve, tomorrow will be a big test.

Just because we question what is happening does not mean we are moaning, we are trying in an open forum to be constructive to improve our great club, so dont anybody say we knock the club and dont support it.
