I heard a rumour that a certain mr weir daily has been seen at York Street Today.
-
After what our manager said the other day?
Re-signing him would just about sum up their scouting abilities.........
-
could mean anythink he is still good freinds with jl
-
I would have him back, now that he has probably realised other clubs don't think he is as good as he thinks he is, he might be more willing to try that little bit harder. It's a thought anyway.
-
Hasn't the club already said this is a deal that is NOT happening? With the 'not' in capital letters to underline how much it is definitely not going to happen, for absolute definite.
-
I believe Holsgrove could be the solution to our problems up front. He's hardly shot shy and looks to have a decent shot on him, while injuries up front persist, it's the perfect opportunity to give it a try. I'm sure partnered with Dudfield, Dudfield being the target man to provide Holsgrove with the final ball, it may well be worth giving a try.
We've definately got goals in us, we just need to tighten up at the back and work out our best combination in midfield. It's early days still, no need to panic and look to bring any new players in just at the moment.
-
Because of his situation, maybe SWD would be willing to play a few games for us without payment (or expenses only) to stay fit and try to impress someone else enough to sign him?
That could see us through the immediate injury problems and be mutually beneficial.
Having said that, with 'service' to the strikers like Saturday, SWD would not make a difference!
-
You may be right BP. I recall JL saying the only way SWD would get back is by playing for nothing.
-
Perhaps we should give him a second chance :dan
-
I think Craig said yet again on United Live last night - he's not coming back.
-
for feck sake, let it pass. he hardly uprooted many trees last year. let the team return fully and the goals will come. now stop talking about him for fecks sake

I'm really pleased for SWD. He played really well for us in the two seasons and also I think people have changed history abit with him to suit saying he didn't tear up any trees. He scored 14 goals in 40 odd games which is a 1in3 goal return which most strikers consider a decent return, he also put a shift in and IMO had the best first touch of the whole squad last year.
People are just bitter he didn't stay on. He was honest stating he wanted to better himself (ambition which you cant knock, Not one person knocked Pearson for doing the same thing!!!!) and after creating a decent platform to go back up the leagues with two decent seasons at Boston where both player and club benefited deserves the chance.
I think we could of got him back in the end (whilst in the crowd at Gainsboro and before Telford came in for him)but lets be honest IF he looked on Forums like this why Bother. I certainly prefer to see him have a go as aposed to player like Yates who have effectively give up in the efforts to have a full time career in football. Once again good luck SWD.
