Liam Parker is about town today... injuries were his problem. Proved he was better than his brother when he did play!

Parker imo wouldn't be a starter but a very good back-up and if chasing a game for whatever reason his throw-ins would offer another option

Sorry but have to contradict you there.

To me, Liam was a very good player who put his all in to every game.  His injury to his back was work-related and nothing to do with football.  He worked hard to regain his fitness which was why he went to Stamford as opposed to sitting on our bench.

A little birdie told me after last Saturday's session he was the second fittest guy there, only just behind Danny Sleath.

We still have plenty of time on our side so let's not get too impatient.

In our promotion season, Liam was the most improved player in the squad and worth his place on merit, not just for the long throws.  It will be another step up to BSN level and I'm not sure he will be quick enough, but he surprised me with his progress before and I think he deserves a chance - after all, he would surely have stayed last year if he'd been fit.

Can play midfield if necessary, knows where the goal is (remember Buxton H and FCUM A) - could be a useful squad player.
