The head says Telford but the heart says Guiseley!
Who do you want to win the final?
-
I would like to see Telford win
-
Telford. As selfishly it keeps a very easy away for me and I just think Telford are a proper Conference team. The sugar daddy's will walk eventually from Guiseley and they will fall back to a natural level. But hopefully not in a Farsley kind of way!
-
Totally agree with the last comment. Does anyone who's been to Guiseley really think that their ground is up to Conference standard?
In purely footballing terms, I think Guiseley might just do it, if their players aren't too knackered after Sunday. But can't help thinking that they should have spent a bit more improving their ground, which would have meant less money available for players, and maybe they wouldn't be as competitive on the pitch.
I think Telford, like us, are building their way back up the right way. Decent ground, decent home crowds, decent team - they are a Conference Premium club and, like us, should be at that level.
-
Telford. Everything about them says Conference.
Guiseley on the other hand are way too tinpot for the conference League 3. Imagine the likes of Stockport and Lincoln visiting neverland or whatever it is they call their excuse of a ground.
-
Guiseley would probably survive for a season or two, Telford have the potential to challenge, plus I think it would be better to have the two big guns this season out of the BSN, gives us a better chance next season 'n all.
-
Telford even if some of their support is a bit dodgy
-
Much prefer telford to go up.
-
Guiseley shouldn't have passed the ground grading requirements. Imagine a big Conf team who cause trouble like Lutton going there without any proper facility for segregation.
-
I hope Telford go up they have a far better setup than Guiseley.
-
HALF TIME: 1-1
Telford took the lead from a penalty, Guiseley equalised with a penalty.
Walshaw also booked for diving.
Live on BBC Radio Shropshire if anyone is remotely interested.
-
Early goal in second half
TELFORD 1 GUISELEY 2
-
In our two game's against Guiseley the ref would not give us a penalty under any circumstances, barring one of their defenders picking the ball up!

That is why I have been doing the penalty league. We do not get penalties, conspiracy theory anyone?
-
Telford equalised
-
Pitch invasion. Telford fans onto the pitch after the goal went in.
-
Attendance 5,436.
-
goal to Telford! 3-2
-
Telford are up!
-
When you can muster a 5000+ crowd you pretty much deserve to go up, would have been a cracking atmosphere if we were there, I wonder if Guiseley managed over 100?
-
Attendance 5,436.
102 guiseley fans?
-
I like Burton Pilgrim dont think that Guiseleys ground is fit to go up. It is a bit of a sh*t hole to be quite honest. We all commented at this last Tuesday when it took us 15 min to get out of the ground. Well done Telford
-
I thought Guiseley where a very good team and am sorry for the fans that they did not go up.
But saying that their set up is no better than Boston Town ( and that is no insult to our neighbours ). For that reason and that reason only I am glad that Telford have been promoted.
-
Have to agree.Guiseley have no ground,no infrastructure, just a team being bankrolled.Congatulations to Telford.they're best equipped to cope with BSP.

A MASSIVE 362 actually.
They took so few fans the end we were housed in was given to the home fans, with their following in a corner of the open terrace!

Add to that the poor sterwarding at their place for a crowd of just over a 1000, plus their fans not being ready for the next step up, lots of them spoke about never having seen nothing like our fans and it being a family club - this from travelling support that where well behaved. Think the Conference Prem would have been a big shock which they would of struggled to cope with.
All that said had no preference on who went up if it wasn't us.
-
And we could only dream of getting a 5000+ gate so overall the biggest and best club all round went up.
I hate the play offs, at least justice was done with the 2nd place side going up.
Interesting to see Guiesley got a penalty today too, how many did they get this term?

Both teams scored from the penalty spot.

Football is played on the pitch, not in the stands. Alfreton won the league, but didn't have the biggest attendances...

No but they had the biggest wallet, and money talks now.
Anyway, to lighten the mood I notice Walshaw was booked for diving today......!!! :D :D
-
I bet Tinpot Trinity had a bigger wage bill...
-
According to their wikipedia page Telford have a large potential fanbase, so an extra 3000+ fans crawled out of the woodwork for the play-off final.
Wonder what we could have got for a final, probably just reach 3000, anyway well done to them, they're a conference setup really, and also gets one of the big guns out of the League for next year.

Not including the penalty shoot out, they have only got 4 penalties ( scored from ) this season. Mind you last year was a different tale.

Telford average for the season 1845
Ours 1401
so a difference of 444
Play Off Semi-finals
Telford home leg 3442 - Nuneaton away following of 399 = 3043
Ours 2630 - Guiseley away following 102 = 2528
so a difference of 515
The play-off final is a much bigger pull for both the casual fan and neutral - I'd hazzard a guess We'd have had 4000+ at a play-off final (we had well in excess of a 1000 at last years play-off final away). Telford are a bigger club but not by as much as the 5500 crowd would suggest.
