Which is always a poor way to start a thread but...
Couple of days ago James Cullingworth posted this on Twitter which i took as a gag;
Really hopes @shaunpearson5 gets 10 goals for the Pilgrims this season as a leaving present before he jumps ship to GTFC #moneychaser
However today, in fact 10mins ago he posted this;
Congrats go out to @shaunpearson5 for the offer he has today accepted from Grimsby Town FC for the 11/12 season. #traitor
Which was 20mins AFTER Pearson posted this;
@Cullingworth_02 the most bitter man i know!
I REALLY hope its just a bit of banter between the lads but its in bad taste if it is!
-
Makes this sort of thing a lot more open these days . . as Twitter . . etc are in the global domain .
Which should prompt Management to make a timely response on th O /S ?
-
Like i say it could well just be banter between the lads, but with the world able to read it you have to wonder!
I'd say its a bit early to be calling for the OS to be commenting.
-
If true surely Fenty would have to get permission from David Newton to speak to Shaun as he is on contract .
-
Only the two lads know if it's true. If it is then what have we lost, a center back all be it a very good one. He came for bugger all and he could leave for bugger all, simple as that. Boston United was here a long time before the lad showed up and i've a feeling it will be here a long time after he's gone.
I remember a few years ago when a certain Paul Cavell left for pastures new. The way we carried on you'd think it was the end of the world. He was replaced, along with countless others, just the same as SP will be, if he does go.
check the grassy knoll and the chips and curry :bunny

"He came for bugger all "
not quite - Stamford recieved a fee for him
-
Bit of an act to follow though .. LG .
10 goals already from defence , and young enough i m h o to be converted to play as defensive midfield or even attacking midfield . . a la S Gerrard .
-
Take it from me its banter. But i do believe at the end of the season he will leave for pastures new (full time footie) and i for one will say THANK YOU AND GOOD LUCK
-
Shaun has also posted "it's not true@cullingworth_02 you are an idiot"
Think it friendly banter and nothing more..
Cullingworth has just said it is a late April Fools joke,see,we told you it was banter :)
-
Wether we are in this league next season or the one above hopefully we can build a good squad around our already established key players - Pearson and Church.

Cully, quality footballer, terrible comedian!

Cully, quality footballer, terrible comedian!
The words "don't give up your day job" spring to mind
-
I heard it was the other way round! Cully was going to GTFC...Grantham Town FC
-
I would be surprised if he went to Grimsby to be honest, he's easily good enough for league 2.
-
Got to agree with BG. Pearson is good enough for league 2 and if he was to go to Grimsby he would be a fool to himself. He has done a good job for us and I expect him to advance to pastures new and I think he will do better than conference. Good luck to him.

I spoke to Pearson yesterday at the reserves game, about 5 mins after Cully posted on twitter, Shaun said that its not true and he can't sign anywhere at this point in the season. So panic over!! I did point out to Shaun that he would look terrible in black and white any way!! :)

I saw Cully tweeting these bad jokes when he was sitting on the BENCH in one of our games
