Not quite sure to make of that.......
-
Good news!
-
Probably for the best, a new man would be tempted to change things too much, get a few wins and were in the play-offs, then work from there.
-
Good luck to them. Hardly the time to be hunting for a permanent manager. Shame that the poachers of hurst and Scott did not think the same.
-
Sounds about rite to me good idea its a risk but no more so than someone new
-
Canners know's the team, Jason can cover the management duties. Fair play to David Newton again, UP THE PILGRIMS ;D
-
come on now lets behind the lads, we can still do this. good appointment within a few hours of finding out the other two (sorry can't remember their names)had resigned
-
I like the idea of these two taking charge. I think it could be a decent combination without causing much disruption to the team. Best of luck Jason and Lee. The fans are behind you guys. We can make the play offs still !
-
Next Question: Can he play? Certainly looked up to it last time out.
-
The kind of common sense move I'd expect from David Newton.
Best of luck to them.
And reading between the lines it seems there's only one boss at York St, good on ya' Dave, don't let the greedy b'astards trample all over you.
-
DN tends to get it right really, doesn't he?
-
Whatever managerial situation we have it, it should always be
DAVID NEWTONS BARMY ARMY ;D ;D ;D
-
Possibily the best decision under the circumstances, I hope Arnold Town will forgive us for poaching one of their strikers! Good luck Jason and Lee, see you at Solihull!
-
Happy with that. Good appt Mr Newton. I am sure canners and lee will have the players backing and there should be less disruption than bringing in an outside man at this stage
-
Logical decision

he was signed up for hallam fc so im sure they didnt get that attached to him
-
Good common sense decision.
-
Never mind the Dooleys we've got The Two Lees
Come on the Town End, song sheets please for "I'm in the mood for dancing"
Well done DN for sorting it out quickly
-
i think its a ballsy brave decision but a quite exciting one. jason is well respected and canners knows the lads. so hopefully onwards and upwards good luck to the both of them and up the pilgrims.
-
A very quick appoinment and one which should work well.
But could there be another twist to the Grimsby Town Managerial Post - according to a Twitter post by gtfcprogramme "Martin Foyle takes his seat in the Main Stand next to Stuart Watkiss - managerial dream team?"
Not what would be funny.................................... :D
-
Both have a lot of playing experience, know the players but no management experience. Think they will do ok. Cannoville still has alot to give as a player and I hope he will be on the pich rather than the sidelines.
With the amount of clubs Jason Lee has had I should think he is quite well connected and may be useful in bringing in any loan players if required.

As long as we don't need defenders with memories?! :P
-
Good choice-well done David Newton.
-
Yep, I'm suitably enthused! :)
-
Hope the luck runs with them , and it brings it back to the player -manager situ I've long been advocating ..
If Jase could be persuaded to fill in at the back we could have the 3 most likeable centre-backs in football ..
-
Courtesy of Scott Dalton...
-
;D ;D :D :D Excellent choice no disruption to the team and the grimsby poison chaliss is all yours, s and h,but remember one thing we will always be gratefull for what you did for this club, but Boston fans never never forget just ask the fat one..... >:( >:( >:(
-
Trundle signs on loan.... ;)
-
Can sleep easy tonight, great choice by David as usual. The New Two can be assured of our total support on Saturday and for the rest of the season.
-
Not ideal but it'll do they both know the lads, the set up, the fans the lot so they'll know what to expect and they'll know what gets the players going etc
hopefully this will bring the players together aswell as the fans
although i'll never forget the work done here by S/H they gave us great times and just look at us now compared to what they came here to
WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER !
-
Under the circumstances not a bad appointment. Assuming they have the respect of the players so will be able to carry on and finish the job the players have worked hard on all season.
Little needs to change, perhaps a tinker here and there, let's hope the circumstances galvanise the players into a cohesive focussed unit.
Good luck to the management team
-
Excellent appointment.
-
The great strides forward over this and last year have been down, in no small part, to a club and squad all pulling together under great management and direction.
The appointment of the 2 Lees has every chance of continuing the positive vibe and we need to get 200% behind them with all our hearts and voices through the rest of the season. Together we can be the 12th man that gets us into and through the play-offs.
-
I echo alot of comments on here; great appointment by the board, really happy to have Jase Lee back and also having Canner's alongside too. Up the Pilgrims!!!
