Title: Club Statement
Post by: AJHallgarth on March 22, 2011, 09:43:10 AM
The directors of Boston United have confirmed that joint first team managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst have resigned from their roles at the football club with immediate effect.

The search will start immediately for a new first team manager.

No further statements will be issued at the present time.

It's the downside of having manager(s) who actually are any good!!!

As long as the players now don't jump ship we can have a decent end to the season and let's face it what a cracking job it is for anyone to come into.

Maybe Jamie Green will suddenly turn up on loan at Grimsby?

What about Boyes? Is he on loan?

Can they walk away and start a new job like that? Do we not have to give them permission to talk, compo and the like?

Seems a bit fishy to me.

My guess is we rejected the approach, hence the resignation which should leave them free to do as they please, otherwise it would have been reluctancly accepted codheads approach if the compo added up.

Might be a case for tapping up though *if* they turn up at codhead land tomorrow am!

Like it!

Thats what Ive been thinking as well, in theory if they resign then they can do as they wish, but then surely DN wouldnt have accepted their resignation unless we get compo from grimsby.

Boyes is signed on until the end of the season, and will apparently only stay with us if we gain promotion and go full time.

They have resigned, to make it inevitable that they can take over elsewhere - compo will still be given, but agreed after the event rather than before it, had they not resigned.

Sounds like they can't go straight to Grimsby in the later parts of this.

In a way I hope he fecks em over and leaves them in contract til the end of the season or asks the Cods to buy em out.

In Neil and Dave I trust, I hope they have their legal people on overtime to get the best out of this.

+1
Appoint a temporary manager until the end of the season and let S&H go shopping with their wives for a few Saturdays.

When they joined us we were told it was because, despite promotion, they never got offered a new contract at Ilkeston, makes me think they did the same to them as they have done to us... Grass is greener etc

Perhaps they didn't want a contract, it makes it easier for them to jump ship, after all, their success was always going to make them a target for slightly bigger clubs, so they must have been expecting approaches near the end of the season and wanted to be available for them.
