Title: Suarez is a Tiger!!
Post by: Finchley Tiger on January 26, 2011, 10:04:25 PM
Mikel Suarez made his debut for us tonight. Played very well, although tired a bit in the second half.

Looks like you guys are now acting as our feeder club! We'll be back for Pearson later!!  ;D

My understanding is that he signed a permanent deal this afternoon. I expect full details will emerge tomorrow?

Makes sense we had 5 strikers vying for 2 places, would think this will mean Hunter gets more of a chance and Newsham will play in his proper position. Having said that still gutted to see Suarez go always gave 100%, Worksop have got a quality player.

With Clancy being released, Deane going out on loan and Nyoni going back as well as Davies continuing to stay out on loan, I'd guess with Suarez going they are clearing players off the wage bill to bring 1 or maybe 2 in - got to be defenders with all the injuries. It's never dull...

Wrong decision  :-\  There is only one player that should be leaving and that is Davidson  >:(

Who are we going to have as a target man now he has gone? :-\

well that was unexpected..but would explain why he wasn't even on the bench last night. Shame he didn't get chance to say bye to the fans. Good luck Mikel and thanks for helping this club on its way back up.

I'm not shedding any tears over him going to be honest. Good luck to him though.

After his goal at Eastwood, it was his big chance to establish his place in the team.

He didn't take it - right decision from Scott and Hurst.

Not a huge fan of Davidson either, but he is the better of the two.

Bleh. I think he's a better option than DD, not that I've actually seen much of this season.

I think the managers got it wrong this time, letting Mikel go. Good luck and thank you Mikel.

In the 2 games i've seen him against us he looked less than impressive tbh.

Must say I'm surprised, when he has been fit this season he had shown signs of a little bit of quality Danny lacks at times.  Wins everything in the air and has reasonably quick feet for a target man.

Dissappointed as I liked watching him play.

Didn't see this 1 coming but suppose if he wanted out there'd be no point t keeping him against his wishes

good luck to the lad though always gave 100% and i think we'll miss him unless he is replaced

i know we need a few defenders at the moment but i can't see us relying on DD to be our only target man

I think we have definitely lost the better of the two target men... Suarez competes and uses his height while davidson wins nothing...I hope we don't regret this

i have read the report, as far as i can make out it was his desire to play more first team football which he hasnt been given the chance of. I would play him any time before Davidson. Im sure he would have preferred to stay with us given the chance. Good luck to him though.

Bloody marvellous ! I have recently favoured Mikel to DD and then he buggers off. I think he had more to offer than DD in the air 'cos at least he could leave the ground. Anyway good luck to him. At the end of the day footballers want to play football, not sit on a bench.
