Title: Football Manager 11
Post by: fabjules on October 24, 2010, 09:46:57 PM
Downloaded the new Demo last night to take advantage of Boston being on the game again.

Was wondering if anyone else had taken the plunge and how they were finding it?

I downloaded it and had a few games, havent got to much time at the mo! seems they have made a another good game

Lasy year there was updates on the Sports interactive forums that let you play down to a couple of leagues lower then boston town so there was still no problem playing as us from the start :D

I've played it for a bit - found it quite funny that Hurst was kept on as my assistant, and Rob Scott was fired when I joined - shame they couldn't have made them co-managers in the game. Boston's squad depth is great, though the board expect you to finish 8th with Boston which isn't easy. Certianly going to enjoy the challenge this year.

Unfortunately, there wasn't the facility to put in joint-managers, so I had to set Scott as manager and Hurst as assistant.

Just finished the demo, up to Jan 1st, game looks really good. Got Boston up to 1st, seems pretty easy to get out of the league so gonna continue the saved game into the full version of the game. Btw, Anyone get Mckeown to renew his loan as he's the best player by far for us!

Been looking forward to this for ages, I got on the editor and added us in last year but the badge and player pictures are something special.

Haven't played the demo even though I've downloaded it, don't want to ruin the full game so I've just had a look around the squads. Rest assured Boston will be my first game in a few weeks

Use an i.p proxy based in europe and that should allow you to install it through steam?

out of interest how many players do you release or bring in and what formation ?

On the demo, I had a decent season going - got to the 2nd Round of the FA Cup, going out to Brighton after a replay.

Didn't sign many players - only if Hurst or a scout recommended them that they'd make the team, and were cheap. Starting a new game with the patch today.

have to admit to trying it out but after 5 broken legs in 3 games gave it up as another bug ridden affair . Sorry to say now that these games are just patch after patch now with the customer doing what should have been the Beta testing .

Bought the full game today, started as Boston again

2nd after 6 games, 5 wins and 1 defeat away at Corby. Scored 17 and conceded 2.

McKeown's out for six weeks.

But Spence is one hell of a player for the BSBN! 8 in 4 for me

Yeah it seems all the conference clubs got free copys of the game to sell, I picked up a copy from the Blyth club shop during the game for a tenner and he was saying they all recived a box of the games on friday.

Picked my copy up from the club shop today. Was welcomed with some great customer service from JB with the words "what about it?" ::) Never mind still at great price at £15

The clubs each provide a set of individual photos for inclusion - maybe a free box of copies to sell is the incentive

Well as a student I have way to much free time/in lectures we are allowed laptops so I've done a few seasons now. Currently battling relegation in L1. Used the old 'promotion or bust' motto, and it's going to be a rocky season next year!

Anyone starting the game as Boston i'd make my first job to sign Tommy Amos and Simon Cox , both are kids on free .

Amos was leagues top scorer with 32 in a 4-4-2 and Cox is an ever present centre back who chipped in with 8 goals too

At the moment i'm currently sitting 5th in League One with Boston. Just signed julio arca on a free!
10/11 BSN 1st
11/12 BSP 16th
12/13 BSP Play off Winners
13/14 L2 1st
14/15 L1 5h (1st Nov)

really enjoying the game so far. With a week off uni, hopefully get to at least the championship

Just got into the EPL. Currently sitting 12th in the first season. Council just blocked me adding more seats to York Street despite the fact I just bought it... so in the Premier League with a 6,000 capacity stadium haha

Yeah! They just announced the 25k seater 'Bastock Park', which is nice. Paul does seem to have an opinion on EVERYTHING I do though haha. I take any screen shots you need to prove I didn't cheat lol. Didn't spend a penny on transfers until my 2nd year in the Championship!

I've had FM 11 for a few days now and love all the new additions to the game; really like the contract upgrade makes it a bit more fun.  Just finished my first season with Boston and won the league on the final day; signed some decent players; Martin Reilly up front was a great one.  Looking forward to challenging for the BSP!!!  Up the Pilgrims!!!

Kempster's just taken over on mine now.. he is 60 years old, and paid £56m for the current Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup holders.

Bargain ;D
