I know we haven't had many, but has this now stopped ?
-
dt you can't ask that sort of question on here - you need to send a PM to someone to get the answer :D
In all seriousness, we must have run out. Is that why attendances are down ?

DT! Legends my arse! If anybody deserves the title Legend it must go to Sir John Blackwell! It was a good idea by Craig but all good things must come to an end!
-
How about Lenny the Lion, a true legend. :rudolph
-
It'd look a bit odd to invite former players back at the moment. Most of them would be younger than some of the current squad!
-
YSP agree! They may even get a game!
-
Craig did tweet the other day that he had a call out of the blue from Jim Smith,he did say he would try to get him in a legend slot for March or April if possible..
At last, someone worthy of the title LEGEND :dan
-
i thought most of our ex players were still playing for us!!

WELCOME BACK NEIL THOMPSON.
SOME ONE WHO FELT THE FULL FORCE OF THE MOANERS AND EVANS TYPES BUT WHO CARRIED ON AND LEFT WITH HIS DIGNITY INTACT.
WHAT YOU DID IN THAT FIRST YEAR IN THE LEAGUE WAS NOTHING SHORT OF BRILLIANT.
TOP MAN
-
Totally agree!
-
How many people are shout "do you want the job back" to him as he walks around the ground tomorrow? I bet there will be a handful who do.
-
I dare say DP those calling for Neil to return will be the same people who called for his sacking and rejoiced when Sotnic brought the fraudster back . Thank you and good luck Neil .
-
I would like to see him back but it would be disrespectful towards JL and LC!

I'm gutted now I can't make Tuesday's game.......hopefully he'll get the rousing hand he deserves from all corners of the ground.......rarely has such a good man been so shabbily treated by so many........still those apologists got Steve 'home' eventually and never has the phrase 'you reap what you sow' been so emphatically proved correct.
The only silver lining is the overwhelming majority of his gobshites and apologists haven't been near the ground for a good 5 years.......
To be fair no one could have blamed Thommo for never wanting to set foot in the place again, it takes a big man to come back after the abuse he got here........
-
A true legend, he will never be forgot for what he did in the first season in the football league and I still say to this day he would have kept us up in the league in that second season!!
Its a shame he will be on his own walking around the ground, would have been great to see Redders walk round the pitch with him, that was a good partnership if you ask me.
Its nice to know he has accepted to come back and walk the pitch especially with how he was treated by certain individuals....
3 cheers to Neil Thompson!!
-
Thommo was a little bit too defensive in his tactics for my liking, and placed too much onus on not losing matches rather than on winning them. But he still did a brilliant job in keeping us up against the odds, and he reintroduced honesty and integrity to the club. He deserves a great reception tomorrow night.
-
Thommo had the bottle to drop Clare to the reserves, a great move that got the other players playing with a smile on their faces. A true footballing legend lets here it for him tonight.
-
Clare to the reserves! I remember it well and DT Woodhall was on the receiving end of a 2 finger salute from Clare. :)
-
I remember it well. Clare was gone by the weekend too. I also remember ( before your time Mark) that I sent in a letter to the standard suggesting how Howard Wilkinson could improve the way the team was playing and he was sacked by the weekend too.
Pity I hav'nt got the same influence now!!!!! Do you think we could persuade him to stay and become manager again?
-
Don,t rcall Wilkinson getting sacked dt . I think he read your letter and walked !
-
DT ! I was guilty of holding the"Kerr must go" banner! Right above his dug out and it was in blood coloured paint (that's how the Standard described it).A few days latter he had been sacked!Pat threatened the other person with a banning order but not me!!

Didn't Clare have one more game at Macclesfield, and then was let go?
-
I know you have all been busy on other threads but just like to say it was good to see the /us happy clappers and the moaners unite last night to give Neil a great fully deserved reception . Just to point out the highlight of the evening for me.

I agree, what a fine fella Neil still is. Well done Craig and thanks for that. :)
