and I wonder just how many other BSN or BSS clubs have a full timer in that role........?

Other clubs at this level rely on volunteers for these kind of roles.

Blue Square Bet North Team of the Year
Steven Drench (Guiseley)
Andrew Pearson (Hyde)
Gianluca Havern (Hyde)
Adam Griffin (Hyde)
Simon Ainge (Guiseley)
Ryan Crowther (Hyde)
Greg Wilkinson (Stalybridge Celtic)
Jack Rea (Stalybridge Celtic)
Scott Spencer (Hyde)
Damian Reeves (Altrincham)
Dwight Gale (Bishop's Stortford)

Don't see too many BUFC players in that.......

Gongs for administrators are all very well and in Craigs case well deserved as he works hard for the club..........but its team awards we want to see and there was no one in our side even close last season.

Should we replace Craig with a part-timer N/F ?

Good try Tash , but you will never create a good news thread on here .

Even on a good news thread  some insist on showing there ignorance of football finance ,
I would think it makes Newton think "why am I putting up with this "?

Nope, but I think the commercial side of the job is far more important than producing an overpriced award winning programme. We're told the club operates on a tight budget yet there's JB and Craig with experience of getting sponsors in and (he'll not thank me for this) Gus who is a people person and 1st class with the sponsors who is well known all over town.

Don't go looking for an issue when there isn't one GHM, awards for programmes and the like are fine but I'd rather we had a 4 page handout for 20p and a commercial department thats bringing in thousands of extra pounds a year. Its tough out there and especially for a club thats not had the best name in the local community thanks to former criminal elements, but there's a lot of goodwill towards Craig out there, he's a good honest lad who people like. He should tap into Mick Rooker a bit more who's been there and done it with Sheff Utd on the commercial side.........let someone else win the programme awards, lets see BUFC with a buzzing commercial department bringing in thousands of pounds.

I am amazed at the comments made in recent posts by KON & N40.
N40 continues to portray the good as bad and support his argument with inane nonsenses! contradictory premises is the rule huh?
I advise neither of you post under "Some good news"
Please discuss  :o

I agree on the 4 page 20p handout N/F .
Much of the rest is contradictory , Saying the club operates on a tight budget suggests we are getting value for money from Craig and John .
If we can get a prize winning programme editor thrown in the package , great .
Come on N/F be a bit more ambitious.
You are correct in explaining how difficult a job it was following the exit of the Mcfraud mob , I seem to recall tellig you of a particular case .
Isnt the commercial department bringing in thoushands of ££s ?   I have been amazed how Craig keeps pulling off so many sponsorships in austere times .
We are non-league Andy , Sheffield is a championship side in a city . Craigs scope for selling comes nowhere near Micks .
Belated good wishes to Craig and his wife and I am sure he will keep the commerical department buzzing and win a few programme prizes along the way .(but will not achieve this at a cover price to suit N/F and myself.).

Looking at the BSN team of the season its disapointing it includes no BUFC players .
The other noticable thing it only contains two players from a"ambitious club" (ie big payers ) the rest are from teams like Hyde who went for the "cheap option" player and manager wise .

I think the programme is very good value, but overpriced...proving that you can contradict yourself in one single post on here, you don't necessarily have to wait a couple of weeks, just get it all out there in one go!
