The B-Ark / Big win last night
« on: November 10, 2010, 07:22:11 AM »
in tricky conditions, I thought Canners,Jellyman,Pearson and Murphy were superb, I can't remember our keeper making a save of note thanks to some superb blocking and positional sense.

I still think we look a bit one dimensional up front, for all the moaning aimed at Yeats he does make things happen......Semp's looked off the pace all night along with Sleath but hey ho, 3 more points!

And finally the ref. Superb. End of. Let the game flow, played good advantages, no bookings, kept up with play......no mean feat in those conditions.

I bet the assessor game him a 2 or 3 mark!! ;)

The B-Ark / Well it has to be said

what a brilliant community club Boston Utd has become.

In the space of little more than 3 years its gone from the rotten empty shell of a football club left behind by chancers and criminals to what must be a model for other clubs to copy. That was a brilliant effort tonight, from Chairman right down to helpers.

Its got to be said, Boston Utd are a hell of a lot more than just a football club at present, don't ever leave Dave!!!!

 :)

Lets be honest here, Wednesday are no big draw, they're not even the biggest club in Sheffield......

I'd rather have Posh or Lincoln than that rabble! ;)

You know its the patriotic duty of all Boston Utd fans who attend that game to give the fat fraudster and his apologist in tow as much grief as possible. Never mind getting behind the team, buy a stand seat and (this is the tricky bit, it'll need loads of you) surround the fat bastard and abuse him and make sure he can't see the game!!!!

One he's gone running to a steward and been ejected for basically being a complete Steve Evans get behind the lads 100%!

I remember him keeping goal for Runcorn down here once.

Interesting character, was he the big bloke with the bald head?

And with the greatest of respect to the current side I'm afraid that side Gerry was in was in a different class to the current one.

Thats an honest opinion, this is a good side don't get me wrong, and I think we can win this league if we get the rub of the green (has anyone seen a better side than us yet after 12 games?), but those mid 70's teams were something else. Probably the best we've ever had.

Would they have signed Jason Lee on Wednesday knowing they would be leaving a few days later?

I doubt it very much......

The B-Ark / Re: Changed Team vs Worcester?
« on: September 25, 2010, 06:09:21 PM »
why make all those changes when its team from our own league? If it'd been a Unibond side then thats OK, but I thought it was disrespectful on the managers part and we paid the price. In fairness 2 of the Worcester goals won't be bettered down here this season but we were the architects of our own downfall with the selection. By the time changes were made we were 2 down and chasing the game.

If they want to give fringe players a bit of match time they should have some midweek friendlies and include some of the reserves and youth to make up the side.

Oh, and if Butcher is going to keep goal again would someone be kind enough to let me know beforehand and I'll make alternative arrangements.......he's a liability, Spalding Utd on loan should be his next move after that 'performance'.

Are we a mini version of the great set up at Ajax in the 70's where all the teams played the same style and the players were all total footballers? :o

Maybe not! ;)

But winnings not a bad habit to get into.

http://impstalk.co.uk/20052006/evansland.htm

My favourite Impstalk story, probably because it was so close to the truth.

Tommy wasn't the best of managers but he did bloody well to get a side assembled so quickly that summer. If DN has made a mistake in his time at Utd its not moving TT on in the summer when we could all see he was making the same mistakes week in week out but he was doing bugger all about them.

But then again, someone might have come in, done moderately well and there'd have been no need for these two we have now.

Swings and roundabouts......

The B-Ark / Re: Today vs Workington
« on: September 11, 2010, 09:07:12 PM »
Well I bought the neighbors boy to his 1st ever game today, he wants to know when the next one is now!

Mind you it helps when he was given chips, pop and a Mars Bar during the game!

Really 1st class stuff today, as has been said Workington are no mugs and are well equipped for this level but we dismantled them. Pretty much 10/10 all round.

I might bring little 'un down for an hour, she's been to a few 1st team games but she's a pest! At the ressies she can run about to her hearts content and not upset too many people!

We'll play worse and win.

It wasn't that we played badly, we just didn't get the bounce of the ball and Nuneaton's winner summed the night up.

We were worth a point tonight but got nothing, another day we'll get 3 points for doing half as much.
