He did make it very clear last week that he felt non of them had fully stepped up. And i agree with some other post on here the Defence needs confidence in the keeper to be able to do there job and it seems to be something we have been lacking

Why the sensationalisation?
With Dowie coming back to full fitness, there's your midfielder. He was really good in pre-season before his injury.

No messing with action man Den , said he would replace goalies and so he has .

This was a big problem Tuesday night.
-
::)
-
Defence needs confidence with the midfield! Can't have any confidence with those who played on Tuesday!!!
-
No spare money peoples ! tho wont be funny if this keeper doesnt perform either .
o/t Is £15 entry ok for this League ?
Is it segregated ?
I will need to sit .. is it like Gigg Lane ? Bury ..that was fine

Alternating keepers almost weekly would destroy not their form so much but definitely their confidence but signing a third will not only drain them but alsondrain resources. Are they both on contract?
Also where do you draw the line? Let in seven and let's slag the keeper off shall we what about the shambles in front of the keeper or the midfield protecting the shambles in front of the keeper. How unfair not to mention naive is that. Best win tomorrow Den as incant think of an excuse you will be able to make.
Incidentally. What's more important tomorrow the result or the performance?
If Oxford can bounce back in such amazing fashion can we?
-
Good move Den so well done. Gledhill needs to released as Vince is the better prospect and on contract. Just need the best forward we can get for the money we have and to keep our best players fit and we could go on a good run.
-
Can he do no wrong in your eyes Carl. He convinces vince to sign a two year deal and a couple of weeks later brings in Gledhill and two weeks later he brings in a third keeper until end of november. If.nothing else it must at least bring into question his judgement. Just dont think congratulations arenin order this time around

Got to agree with that BG but take issue with your previous post , two under par goalies do not make one good one , correct to sign Farman assumming hes better than our existing 2/3 , as Carl says move Gledhill out if poss.
I stated on another tread a few weeks back goalkeeper cost us last season , let,s hope he,s got it right this time .
P.S do you check your pm,s ?

I prefer people to admit their mistakes, and attempt to rectify them - rather than being stubborn, and sticking with something that could go horribly wrong.
Get rid of Gledhill, let Vince play in these U21 games and Farman is number 1 until December. However, Farman cannot play in the FA Cup for us.
Cue Farman getting injured...
-
Have now....what a twit. Need better glasses? ;D
Back to keepers am not questioning how good.or bad they may be. Everyone appears split on the issue but remember last year, many thought Vince should have replaced timms, yet now some of those same people would presumably have him down as our number three!
"if" they are both contracted it could cost us. Interestingly a follow up question and let's hope it doesn't happen but what do we do if our new keeper has a stinker Saturday? 8)
-
Vince is on contract and I believe gledhill is only non contact. Surely gledhill will be released now?
-
Not claiming that DG is faultless I am just pleased that an experienced 'keeper has been bought in. Big fan of Vince but he is still a young lad. Gledhill was a gamble and didn't pay off so credit is deserved for trying to improve the team. With a limited budget we have to take a gamble with a few young lads; some will work and some wont, has happened before, will happen again, the most important thing is to try and constantly improve the squad.
For what it's worth I thought DG got it wrong Tuesday moving McGhee to right back when Marrs got injured and should have left him on the wing where he was causing plenty of problems for Oxford and put Marshall at right back, bringing Dowie on instead of Doran who isn't good enough, too slow to play on the wing and not strong enough to play CM. Could have been a different game.
-
I rest my case.

Vince is a long game project, you've got to give the kid time. He is still young for a keeper and if it'd been him on the end of 7 it would have ended his prospect of ever playing for us.
-

The other option is to send Vince out on loan
-
You're right shaun unless Gledhilli is on a contract and for the clubs sake lets hope he isn't DG as ruthless as it sounds will just have to get rid of him. If he is then as suggested last night it might have a real impact om our ability to bring others in. Every team injury permitting will have a number one and am assuming only a season long loan will appease
Let's hope whatever the score today we keep a clean sheet that's the way to respond from mid week
-
We could have carried on with the Reserve team in the Anglian Combination or Peterborough League instead of creating a mysterious U-21 non-league side who aren't even included on the official website.

Hopefully these U21/ Development teams will prove a better test .
-
Looked good today. He has a huge kick!
-
Pleased you got the initial letter of the last word correct! ;D
-
This chopping and changing of goalkeepers worries me..you pick your first choice goalie and stick with him.
-
Ferguson and Taibi?
-
Exactly... >:(
-
Are you now comparing DG to Sir Alex?
-
yes
Happy Clapping at its happiest lol

Might be a couple of centre mids joining the ranks soon :dan
-
Midfielders Kyle Dixon and Greg Tempest on 1 month loans from Notts County.
-
Just hope they can tackle!
-
Good signings. Dixon did well last season for us. Felt that we've lacked a bit of creativity in midfield, hopefully these two can provide it.
With no Robinson tomorrow, may be worth trying 442.
-
Decent signings.. where does this leave players like marshall, hollingsworth and meadows? seem to have alot of midfielders with marrs also playing in midfield.
-
As much as it pains me to say this can easily see Connor walking away!
-
If you mean connor as in Marshall, he should walk away, he is just not good enough, only good thing about him is that he's versatile but his footballing ability isn't a play off chasing team
-
Great to see Dixon back he was outstanding last time.
-
Good timing ..do they get cuptied to Boston ?
-
They have permission to play tomorrow, so if they appear, then yes.
-
Also should be a good game to get a look at them too.
-

In Monday u21 match Doran and Hollingsworth both outshone Conor in mid-field .
-
Conor spent half the game at full-back...
-
Conor spent half the game at full-back...
Yes , and the rest of the game mid-field ....
-
Greg Tempest ..sounds like an all action Gerry Anderson puppet hero ..
-
Marshall is a good squad player and the two new lads are only here for a month at the moment. Marshall didn't have his best game Monday night second half but it was only a friendly. Hollingsworth and Doran played well but may have to play the waiting game still.
-
What a short memory some boston fans have. He was one of our best players last season until he got injured. There are a few players i would rather see leave than him.
-
No-one has said they want him to leave...
-
I don't want to see him leave but just can't see him happy being on the bench seems he has been pushed further down the pecking order with the 2 new signings.
-
That was my point, and if there is a down side in getting in quality loanees for a month this is it for inevitably you cheese off some regulars
-
Yes.. this is non-league
Players will be turned over .. until promotion is clearly in the frame . . then try for a more settled side .
-
Dont Endeavour radio do commentaries any more?
-
Financially no one has to leave as the two lads from County are still being played by them. Hopefully we can keep the squad together as we will need them all with the loan lads potentially gone in a few weeks and injuries often picked up as we go into the winter.
-

They do, though I'm not sure they covered this. I wasn't asked if I was available to do cooms (The rota is set in stone though cup games it gets arranged at short notice- seems like they didn't get a team today)
