A retired footballer has been ordered to pay a woman more than £2,500 in damages - after she stubbed her toe on a 'keep off the grass' sign outside his house.
Former goalkeeper Malcolm White, 73, has also been hit with a £25,000 legal bill after he was successfully sued by Emma Grady.

Six Leave UCL Champions2 ex-Pilgrims in, 2 out at Spalding so far this summer...
Spalding United have been hit the departures of six players in the wake of their ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division title triumph.
Skipper Jamie Stevens became the latest player to leave the Tulips after snubbing a new deal to stay with them at Step 4 level next season.
Stevens is expected to return to neighbours Holbeach United after also leading them to the UCL title in the previous campaign.
Utility man Jonny Allen and full-back Adam Jackson are also expected to go to Holbeach, who are now back under the management of title-winning boss John Chand.
Yaxley-bound Dan Cotton, Josh Ford and Ross Watson have also left, but, as reported earlier in the week, Spalding have drafted in former Posh star Gareth Jelleyman from Corby Town as player-coach and experienced goalkeeper Nick Conroy has also accepted a player-coach role.
The former Northern Star man will provide back-up to number one Michael Duggan.
