Not only did Gainsborough play in a carbon copy of our new away shirt this pre-season... but look at the colour of their new away shirt!

I'm assuming these 3 have now signed, after appearing in the team photo?

Are we struggling for a team? Trialists cannot play (unless registered non-contract with the Lincs FA), and Galinski, Felix and Sanders are suspended.

Vince
Mills, Piergianni, Reynolds, Steer
McGhee, Marshall, Dowie, Barlow
Garner, Southwell

This leaves only Hewitt and Smythe on the bench?

The B-Ark / Council Recommends YES for The Quadrant

The conclusion to this report is a main recommendation that the Committee are Minded to Grant the application.

It is recommended that the application is forwarded to the Secretary of State, who can then 'call it in' for a public enquiry, or go with BBC's decision. For an application of this size, in terms of the whole country, surely this won't get 'called in'?

Although there remain substantial numbers of representations against the application there are larger numbers in support

Nobody at the meetings has supported this, where do the applicants get their 76% support from
The meetings were designed for people to say no, now they're using the lack of yes votes (rather than concentrating on the small overall percentage of no votes)...

The B-Ark / Your BUFC Squad
« on: July 21, 2014, 11:44:58 PM »
Who would you have in your BUFC squad, from the players already signed and ones who've played on trial?

GKs:
Vince and Gledhill (both eligible for U21s, too)

Defenders:
Mills, Garner, Piergianni, Reynolds, Steer, Smythe, Galinski

Midfielders:
Barlow, Felix, McGhee, Marshall, Dowie, Meadows, Hollingsworth, Hall

Forwards:
Newsham, Southwell, Cole, Sanders (but send on loan)

Squad of 21, but I'd expect Smythe, Hollingsworth and Cole to start with the U21s (and Sanders out on loan), providing cover for the 1st team. Hopefully, we may get one or 2 in on free loans - maybe a young striker? A pacy striker who plays on the shoulder of the defenders would be a decent addition...

EDIT: Forgot about Hall, would have him and Meadows in the middle together.

A retired footballer has been ordered to pay a woman more than £2,500 in damages - after she stubbed her toe on a 'keep off the grass' sign outside his house.

Former goalkeeper Malcolm White, 73, has also been hit with a £25,000 legal bill after he was successfully sued by Emma Grady.

Miss Grady, 40, injured her left toe on a homemade wooden sign the pensioner had put on a grass verge outside his home in South Hykeham, Lincolnshire.

Why was she walking across the grass, when there is a pathway designed explicitly to be walked on nearby??

Six Leave UCL Champions
Spalding United have been hit the departures of six players in the wake of their ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division title triumph.

Skipper Jamie Stevens became the latest player to leave the Tulips after snubbing a new deal to stay with them at Step 4 level next season.

Stevens is expected to return to neighbours Holbeach United after also leading them to the UCL title in the previous campaign.

Utility man Jonny Allen and full-back Adam Jackson are also expected to go to Holbeach, who are now back under the management of title-winning boss John Chand.

Yaxley-bound Dan Cotton, Josh Ford and Ross Watson have also left, but, as reported earlier in the week, Spalding have drafted in former Posh star Gareth Jelleyman from Corby Town as player-coach and experienced goalkeeper Nick Conroy has also accepted a player-coach role.

The former Northern Star man will provide back-up to number one Michael Duggan.

2 ex-Pilgrims in, 2 out at Spalding so far this summer...
