But I don't drink. Can I have a pie and a cup of tea in the ground for a pound (I'm a poet and didn't know it ).

There is definitely a buzz about the place. Only a few weeks ago a lot of us would not have minded missing a game but now I am really looking forward to it. Would be great to see a good crowd AND hear the Townenders in full voice, they were great at the last home game.

For many reasons not many have been able to get to the last couple of away games but for us fortunate enough to be there it has been a real treat to see the great spirit in the team that has not been seen for a couple of seasons. Clearly the new manager is getting the response from the players that he could have only dreamed of when taking on the job. Ok, the season has been dificult for many reasons but it does seem the chairman and board have acted to get things right on the pitch and therefore deserve a response from the fans.
I have been spreading the word and we should all be doing the same to see York Street buzzing again so the new spirit in the camp not only continues but builds towards a positive new season.

Good to see you back on Saturday oxo .   Agree with above comments .    I thought  DGs first match with only 500+ fans in YS produced the best atmosphere this season .  Even with a slow start the fans showed tolerance and got behind the players .
Lets hope this tolerance is replicated by the returning fans on Sat and we may well be rewarded with another top class performance from the players

Two new rules for consideration. 1 If your birthday falls on a home match day you treat everyone behind the visiting teams dugout to a cup of tea (not one cup and twenty straws ). 2 If you are a new manager and win 4 on the trot you treat everyone behind the visiting teams dugout to a cup of tea.  :)

Why not have 1 home game, maybe Halifax as you'll get more away fans too, where its a fiver all round or kids for free or do what some clubs have done whereby you pay "what you want" (min £2 maybe)- Season ticket holders get a free programme/beverage etc
We're on a good run now, its nearly end of the year, why not try out some different approaches?
I remember Morecambe did a free entry thing and got national coverage of it and the publicity helped get over 4,000 there (OK gates have gone back to sub 1500)

We would only be able to do that if someone covered the difference, Only a viable option to clubs at a profit

But there more people you get through the gate, the loss in cheap tickets can be made p by food/bar/merchandise sales... as well as maybe a few who come more often in future.
I'm sure there's got to be more to it than that but for a one off, why not?

The best way to bring back the fans in numbers is for the Club to have a serious attempt at promotion to the Conference NEXT YEAR. We now have THE best manager in place (Mr Newton sure messed up with the previous appointment!), the best ground and 5 or 6 of the best players in the League. Next season is critical (or an indication?) to the future of BUFC. :bunny

How about re locating the shop nearer to the entrances to the ground. At the moment most people don't go near the shop unless they specifically want to look at something whereas if it was next to the entrance folk might just pop in as they go past it and shell out a few bob. Hate to admit this but I have NEVER been in the shop because its not on the groove I have worn going into the ground. And in any case I get the handmedowns from the feller next to me who over the years has outgrown things, or did he say they shrunk in the wash. Serious about the shop though.

More advertising round town/local papers might help, you wouldn't know there's a game on sometimes!
