I have to agree that communication is very poor. We get very little idea of how injured players are faring and whether (or when) they are likely to be fit. I only knew that Bostwick and Richards were suspended for the Peterborough Sports game through other channels - it did not appear as far as I'm aware on the website. When players 'disappear' or aren't in the squad we usually have no idea why. We really are interested in what is going on at our club!

That wonderful technology BUSA provided has been used for pathetic and pointless Tik Tok video's that add nothing to the general air of frustration around the club.

The club really is totally disconnected from the support base at the moment.

I heard a rumour that Danny Elliott was coming back. Not one for me, i'm afraid.

Nor me Mick, he'll only be angling for his next move every time he scores and then thanking his God for his good fortune........

I hear the biggest problem is actually getting signings over the line, players wanting to come but either them or their agents being unrealistic with wage demands.

I am critical of the club on a lot of levels, but by the same token these boys are level 6 players, not FL players, a hefty dose or realism is required when it comes to remuneration.

I've booked to go to Peterborough on Tuesday, Coalville and Brackley in the next few weeks.

Won't be going to any home games as its such an unfulfilling experience but 2 new ground ticks can't be missed!

Plus for all my moaning they'll always be 'my club', I desperately want them to do well but I can't see it happening in the foreseeable future for a variety of reasons.

Good night all round. Buzzing atmosphere good game, both teams looked quality. Good support from both sets of fans. When we get promoted this is what it could be like.

"When we get Promoted...."

Won't happen Lee, they won't commit to a budget that sees the team challenge.

For two or three years now the league has been wide open and yet we've been nowhere even close.

Hell we've now got a manager in who's won the title but he's having to scratch around with a squad of U23 players in a half baked hybrid system that's all smoke and mirrors to make us look like we're out there hiring up and coming talent when the reality is we're picking up lads on a downward trajectory out of the full time game.

The sooner people wake up to the fact that we're in this league for years to come the better.

Well the ground has been a game changer financially, insofar as we're not being propped up by the Chestnuts (as much) - a completely unsustainable position that really made us no better than clubs like Fylde, who you consistently rail against on Twitter as being a hobby club. Why were we much different at York Street? Prior to the ground move and without their support, we would probably find ourselves outspent by Boston Town.

As for "it's now time to ask questions", there was a forum on Thursday night where you could do precisely that and you opted not to go.

pointless asking those kind of questions, you and I both know you'll get shouted down by the happy clappers, the self same people that welcomed Evans and co with open arms.

I long ago gave up on forums, its nothing more that a back slapping exercise lapped up by the masses who accept every last word uttered by the club as gospel.

David Newton had a face like thunder at the end of the match, and seemed to be in a daze. I hope he reads the riot act to management and the team

Well its his show, he dictates the budget, appoints the managers and implements hybrid training. Its now time to ask questions because this happens far too often under his watch.

And before the usual "be grateful you still have a club to support" mob pipe up yes, I am grateful to have a club to support but he's not immune from criticism as it seems its he who has the final say on everything. The club seems to have slipped into a torpor of mediocrity, a 'Happy just to be here' attitude stinks the place out.

Saturday exposed the team as lacking leaders, lacking strength and lacking the bottle needed to overcome a physical but limited opponent. Team selection is Cully's department, but if this is the best the budget allows then its back to the board.

We were told in no uncertain terms the new ground would be a game changer; as far as I can see its just a case of The Emperors New Clothes.

Just off the bypass, stopped for lunch there one afternoon. A staggeringly average Brewers Fayre type foodie pub. But very handy for the ground

Bit negative that, we don't want fans like you these days,we only want happy clappers and families and corporate's.

I'm sure it'll soon be mandatory to be only granted admission if you turn up with a member of your family.......

It could and should be so much better, Darlo are  bottom and we've dropped a couple of points, Bishops Stortford are bottom 4 and we lost to them. Silly points dropped to poor sides will cost us dear in the long run.

I can't get carried away by a slightly better than average start, there's been good results against Blyth and South Shields but there's no hiding from the feeling it should be better.

Could and should have had a draw at least. After Saturdays great win some of the the lads were just not on it and though I don't like singling anyone out for citicism I have to say Gyasi is a liability there has to be better choices in the youth team never mind the under 23s. However on to Saturday and hopefully back to the home form shown recently as apart from the result we had another cracking away day on Micks party coach.  UTP

Totally agree, if Gyasi gets a game I want one too, a terrible performance that cost us two points.

Also the party bus is the way to go, a great day out ruined by an inept 90 minutes.

having agreed with you twice I'm now going to sign off for a few weeks.........

They got us near the end with a good delivery from the free kick which was well finished. A shame really as I thought we'd done enough to deserve at least a point. There were a lot of tired legs out there towards the end of the match. Just before the goal I thought we had a good spell with Knowles nearly scoring which was cleared off the line and the subs of Ward and Gyasi having a bit more energy and pressing them in the final third but it was Stortford who found the winner.

a lot of tired legs......

We're basically full time Lee, that excuse really doesn't wash. It was a poor performance and one indicative of a team that won't challenge for the top spot.........play offs possibly but on that showing it'll be another season in this league next year. A shame as I'd heard nothing but good things about Saturday's performance.

I think if you were to poll Boston fans you'd find as a fanbase we were probably the most behind our board than pretty much every club in the country.

Even when things are going terribly and everyone's moaning, nobody to my knowledge has ever turned against the two chairmen! And rightly so. We will miss them terribly then they've gone. I hope they never leave!

I wouldn't want to change him and Neil for the world.

Doesn't mean they aren't beyond question though........

Honestly I share your frustration - but I don't share your pessimism about the future. Yes I know it seems we're always talking about the future rather than the present I but genuinely believe with a completed stadium we wouldn't just survive in the NL, we could thrive. Obviously a good cup run can accelerate the process!

So for getting there, we still don't know what this season holds - Kiddy were bang average for much of it and look what happened... (and York the season before, but I try not to talk about that).

Its more an acceptance than pessimism that while David is in charge the conservative approach will always hold us back. Its not a criticism, its an observation, you don't have to mortgage the clubs future to one season, but a little more bravery budget wise could open the door to the promotion the club needs to get out of this rut of mediocrity.

Can't believe how some on here always need to have a moan about something.  Most supporters I have spoken to are very pleased with the stadium and thankful to the Chairman for making it happen.  Please be happy, life is too short to be miserable.

that's Boston for you....mainly those with an elevated sense of self importance......to think where we were to where we are now i have to pinch myself

Yeah, Football League to National League North for 13 seasons is certainly something.

I pinch myself too how its been allowed to drift to this extent that we're now firmly established as nothing more than a mid table regional league club.

Yours very self importantly......

We couldn't afford to be in the FL, Andy! We never could. I would have thought that you of all people would recognise this but the last few years you seem to have got so frustrated with our lack of progress back from the brink it's been lost in the mists of time. At least now if we ever get back it will be properly and not as a Fylde-esque financial basket case and ticking time bomb.

That's why we nearly became AFC Boston

Honestly Pete, I can't see this club getting back in The National League National, let alone the FL, which we all know is a step too far.......although once inferior clubs like Cheltenham,Accrington, Morecambe and Crawley to name a few seem to be making a good fist of things.
