The B-Ark / Re: mark hughes sacked
« on: December 20, 2009, 05:50:14 PM »
Simple, Man City have more money than they know what to do with. There will no doubt be a mass exodus of playing staff moved out at the end, if not before, the end of the season. They could be the team to hate, taking over the mantle from the scumbags from OT.  ;D I've no sympathy for Hughes, he knew big money was coming in to City, that's why he left Blackburn, as they say, if you sleep with the Devil. I'm slowly losing faith in football, well at the so called top level. I'm half watching West Ham V Chelsea, what a bunch of f###ing pansies. You've got Drogba, whinging like a small girl and some Italian rolling around because someone touched his hair. To top it all off, Andy Gray's masturbating in the commentary box thinking about Frank Lumplard.  ;)
Oh, and the answer to the question is, Liverpool don't have the money to sack the Spanish Waiter  ;) Now no doubt tomorrows news will be, Benitez Sacked!

The B-Ark / Re: Today's game
« on: December 13, 2009, 09:08:49 AM »
Yesterday was the first game i've managed to see for a while. Whilst i thought we huffed and puffed i do think we were second best for most of the game. They seemed stronger, quicker, more organised than us. We did have lots more chances than BPA but we seemed to lack that killer finish. For effort you could say we did deserve a draw, sadly effort alone doesn't win football games.
I still think we'll be up there at the end but no necessarily at top spot.

Crawley owners look to clear debt

Winfield's club currently sit 14th in Blue Square Premier
Crawley Town co-owner Bruce Winfield says his aim is for the club to be debt-free by the end of this season.

Loss of television revenue, reduced commercial income and gate receipts have seen a shortfall of around £250,000 in this season's budget.

As a result manager Steve Evans has been forced to sell players and prevented from buying new ones.

Winfield told the club website: "A debt-free Crawley in the months ahead is now a very realistic objective."

He added: "I will not hide from the fact that it is my clear intention and that of my co-owners to have Crawley Town Football Club debt-free by the end of the current season.

At present we do not have the finances to deliver the team on the pitch we all want

Dave Winfield
"That remains very much achievable despite the current financial downturn and this will in turn enable the club to divert income and capital to the current year rather than serving old debts."

Winfield admitted selling players had had an impact on the club's position in the table.

Jon-Paul Pittman, Steve Fletcher, Jake Wright, Danny Bulman, and Jamie Cook have all recently left the club.

"At present we do not have the finances to deliver the team on the pitch we all want but by making the tough decisions lately we can keep players of real quality," Winfield said.

Boss Evans said: "It doesn't stop me from being frustrated and it won't stop me from knocking on his door and asking for players.

"If the result of all this is we get through this period, have a reasonable season and we have a reasonable size budget put in place to give us a chance next season then we're all very much part of the bigger picture."

The B-Ark / from a Grimsby fan, do you think it's a tad harsh?
« on: November 13, 2009, 06:17:01 AM »
Dear Players of Grimsby Town FC

I am writing with regard to my absolute astonishment and disbelief as to the sheer magnitude of your complete lack of talent and failure to carry out the job for which you are paid to do. I am not aware of any swear word or other derogatory phrase in my current vocabulary which comes close to a description of your ‘performance’ (and I use that term loosely) this afternoon, but let me just say that you have collectively reached a level of inadequacy and ineptitude that neither I nor modern science had previously considered possible.

In fact I recall a time, in my youth, when I decided to call in sick at work and instead spent the entire day in my one bedroom flat wearing nothing but my underpants, eating toast and wánking furiously over second-rate Scandinavian porn. Yet somehow, I still managed to contribute more to my employer in that one Andrex-filled day than you complete bunch of toss-baskets have contributed to this club in your entire time here.

I would genuinely like to know how you pathetic little píssflaps sleep at night, knowing full well that you have taken my money and that of several thousand others and delivered precisely fúck all in return. I run a business myself, and I believe I could take any 4,000 of my customers at random; burn down their houses, impregnate their wives and then dismember their children before systematically sending them back in the post, limb-by-limb, and still ensure a level of customer satisfaction which exceeds that which I have experienced at Blundell Park at any time so far this season.

You are a total disgrace, not only to your profession, not only to the human race, but to nature itself. This may sound like an exaggeration, but believe me when I say that I have passed kidney stones which have brought me a greater level of pleasure and entertainment than watching each of you worthless excuses for professional footballers attempt to play a game you are clearly incapable of playing, week-in, week-out.

I considered, for a second, that I was perhaps being a little too harsh. But then I recalled that I have blindly given you all the benefit of the doubt for too long now. Yes, for too long you have failed to earn the air you’ve been breathing by offering any kind of tangible quality either as footballers or as people in general. As such, I feel it’s only fair that your supply runs out forthwith.

I trust, at this precise moment in time, that Mr Fenty is in his office tapping away on the Easyjet web site booking you all one-way flights to Zurich, complete with an overnight stay with our cheese eating friends at Dignitas. Don’t bother packing your toothbrush – you won’t need it.

In the event that our beloved chairman can’t afford the expense (understandable given that he’s soon going to have to assemble a new squad from scratch), then I am prepared to sell my family (including my unborn child) to a dubious consortium of Middle Eastern businessmen in order to pay for the flights. Christ, I’ll drive you there myself, one-by one, without sleep, if I have to.

Failing that, understanding that most dubious Middle Eastern businessmen are tied-up purchasing Premier League football clubs, I ask you to please take matters into your hands. Use your imagination, guys – strangle yourselves or cover yourself in tinfoil and take a fork to a nearby plug socket, or something. Just put yourselves and us fans out of our collective misery.

So, in summary, you pack of repugnant, sputum-filled, invertebrate bástards; leave this club now and don’t you fúcking dare look back. You’ve consistently demonstrated less passion and desire than can commonly be found within the contents of a sloth’s scrótum, so frankly you can just all fúck off – don’t pass go, don’t collect your wages, don’t ever come back to this town again.

I look forward to you serving me at my local McDonald’s drive-thru in the near future.

Yours sincerely

A very disillusioned Mariner

If anyone thinks the Managers were at all happy with the 'very poor' performance on Saturday, have a listen to Rob Scott's interview!!

Sorry but that was shocking today. If JJ had took his chance instead of passing we'd now be out on our arses. If the players don't get a tongue lashing they bloddy well should. Ok, they defended in numbers and did a good job too but we seemed lackluster and devoid of all inspiration. Lets hope the Managers sort it out, i can put up with poor shifts in a cup match but not in the league. There we need to be playing well and pushing for top spot.

One more thing, Boston is the place where the Pilgrim fathers set sail.

Er, really...???

Yes, they might of stopped off at some shitty place on the south coast on the way there, just to pick up a few beers.  ;D

maybe i was watching a different game yesterday but i thought wood was shakey at best yesterday he lost the ball to them 2 or 3 times under no pressure at all and put the ball out for a throw once or twice when he had other options.

I think you've been watching to much footy on the TV Carl. Any player at this level of footy that can go through 90 minutes without making a few balls ups should be playing at a lot higher level.  ;) I still think Woody did a bloody good job playing at LEFT back considering he usually plays at RIGHT back. In fact, i think he played better at left back. Pearson was still fantastic, that lad will go far if he looks after himself.

I don't usually comment on things like this...but.. if no fooker watched it in the first place we'd not have to put up with 'past their sell by date' toss pots like you get on these programs. How on earth anyone can sit through such bollox i'll never understand. Talk about 'dumbing down' TV programs, what with that shite on ITV and the other shite on the BBC we'll all be like fooking Americans in a few years! Now that feels so much better, ahhhhh.  ;)

If that was a the 'top of the table' team then all i can say is they were very poor. I'm not taking anything away from the lads, yesterday they were head and shoulders above Ashton. Every player was fantastic, well done to all of them. Where i was stood we chatted about the MOM, a few tipped Woody to get it. To be honest i thought he had a fantastic game, the best game the lad has played for us. My vote for MOM went to Pearson, what a game that young man had and what a player he will be if he fulfils his potential.
I hope that lad is on some sort of contract. Many more games like that and we'll have scouts from bigger clubs sniffing about, if they're not already!!

How much dosh as the guy from 'fantasy Island' got?  One more thing, Boston is the place where the Pilgrim fathers set sail. If that's not enough fooking history for the town, then i don't know what is. The other side of the pond there's a team called the 'New England Revolution' They play at the 'Gillette Stadium' in Boston. How much trouble would it be to email them, phone them, just to get in touch?
