Although it now has to go to the last day, we could do with the other two dropping out of the race tonight and leaving us to fight for top with 2nd as a backup.
A Guiseley defeat and NFU draw would be the order of the day.

NFU are playing Durham. Cant see them dropping points tonight. Hope im wrong though. ;)

The un-predictability of the Durham artificial pitch took some getting used to. Nealy all the first half for us. If Durham can assert themselves in that first half they might get a decent result for us tonight!

Guiseley have just gone 1 nil up against frickley >:(

Shock of all shocks, it was a penalty...

Is there any live commentary of the game?

See that fatboy turned up at Kettering tonight to find Nathan Abbey blocking the hole where he likes to score!

I have taken great pleasure in letting some of the Kettering fans know about fattys relationship with Nathan Abbey. Grandad has also promised to p*ss in Evans petrol tank- that`s if he`s not been banned from driving by now

Oh dear, such disgusting thoughts, Sister Soo!!
Oh what the hell.
Buy your Grandad another pint to make sure he gets plenty of p**s in fattys tank.
-
Ferriby 1-0 up at Durham.
-
Make that 2 pints ;D
-
A yard?
-
North Ferriby and Guiseley 1 up? If you were a neutral you would have to say what a superb final day of the season to have four teams who could win the League. Unfortunately I'm not a neutral so all I can say is...Balls!

I think what we can take from the way things stand is that there's no use looking elsewhere for results on Saturday as far as the title is concerned. If we win then we're up; if not, it's extremely unlikely that none of the other three would take advantage.
-
The comfort of maybe a point being enough could be a distraction also. I think you are right, look no further than our game, win and thats all that matters!
-
Guiseley now 2-0 up
-
Now Frickley 1 Guiseley 2
-
Guiseley went 2 up after 65mins but Frickley pulled a goal back within 60 seconds.
Frickley 1 - 2 Guiseley
-
Couldn't agree more, I guess the point I was making is to an outsider its a great finish to the season having four clubs still in the race going down to the last day, you'd never see that in the Premier League for example!
From our winning the League point of view, if we don't go up Saturday, we'd have to go and win two games outright against arguably better sides anyway. I guess Saturday will see whether or not we have the bottle to do that. It's going to be bloody tense I know that! I thought it was bad watching the Retford game on United Live!

Guiseley's 2nd was another penalty

Why are they better than us? The table doesn't lie!

Can't be sure but I think Maxross meant the sides in the playoffs are better than Marine.

We've known since Saturday that a win Saturday =we win the league.Nothing about tonights results has changed that. It's still in our hands.Having said that i'm already more nervous than i was in the week before Hayes, and there's still three days to go.........................

I've just read it back to myself and I can see I wasn't overly clear! Woad is correct, I was trying to say that our likely opponents in any play-off are going to be arguably a more difficult proposition than Marine(not taking anything away from them). Carl, I agree the table doesn't lie and I think it's pretty obvious now that we are the best team in the League, let's just hope the players can hold their nerve. If they do I can see us doing very well again next year if we keep this squad together.
Maybe the way results have gone is the best thing that could've happened though, as at least now there's no room for complacency to sneak in on saturday and we have something akin to a cup final situation, where all we have to do is win this one game to lift the league trophy. I think a few weeks ago none of us dared even dream of a situation like this so we have got to be very happy to be sitting as we are with our fate in our own hands.
I don't know what others think, but I reckon even if we totally throw away the league and play-offs now, we should try and extend Scott & Hursts contracts. I know they've still got another year to run but it shows faith and breeds stability.

You think that's bad... I sat in front of teletext screen when boston played yeovil (it was only game on screen) when clare popped up in 87 minute to win- was good though!
