The B-Ark / Re: V Brackley Town

CE really annoyed me in his post match interview, immediately closed down the interviewer when asked if he reacted quickly enough to Brackley shape.  CE blames the players. I completely agree with Mark Hone, I think it was evident after 15 minutes flat 442 was not working. It was very flat, Brackley played between the lines and had a pattern of play, we literally play it to the full backs and hoof.  I do question CE’s tactical nous

I know it's only 2 games in and this squad may come good, but I feel this team will not be together long and it won't take long Elliott to make changes. My concern being a lack of creativity, lots of hard workers but lacking technical ability! Two full backs are not comfortable on the ball but aggressive, wafalu the same, Margetts seems shot of confidence and Arnold may be somewhat of a luxury.  I do hope I'm wrong and trust in CE but feel the balance is wrong.  This showed on Saturday as I don't think 3 passes were put together

The B-Ark / Adam Marriott speculation

A 'in the know' twitter user called 'non league tittle tattle talk', that has been spot on with his sources says, '@bostonunited set to announce the signing of Adam Marriott. They’re not messing about this season'

Would like to see Greene back, he had half a bad season out of 4 with probably a smaller budget. Victim of his own success, I honestly don't care about the social media etc if he gets results.

The B-Ark / Re: Tonight v Chorley

Whilst I agree with points made about the effort we gave 100% and the players are clearly still playing for Murray.  The gulf in quality was there to see last night! Boston's only way forward was punt down the line or hoof, this told when they went down to 10 men as they kept the ball better!

What we saw in Chorley was a really well coached side, everyone knew there jobs and there was a game plan.  You could tell each player knew their role from the deep midfielder who gets the ball off the defenders, to the wide men who knew when to go forward at the right times to the forwards making intelligent runs!

I am not calling for AM to be sacked, but let's not gloss over the fact that we lack quality and an identity other than long ball!  I do worry for the rest of the season because hard work will only take you so far.  As for AM saying that this team will climb up the table, I hope he realises last night that we are way off that!

Played really well albeit against a poor team, 3 at the back seems to suit us, Chapmans best game since he has been at the club for sure, showed glimpses of the passing range AM spoke about.  Green shoots for this team...as for the booing at half time I won't say any more about that!

Really good point...Newton said he thought about quitting last season due to the atmosphere around the club until AM came in, which would be disaster for his club

Agree with youngchubby! Whilst I am not happy with the quality of football screaming at the players every time something goes wrong will not help.  There is a reason why these players appear fearful on the ball and treat it as a curse or hot potato.  The players need an environment to feel they can try things and keep the ball of the deck.

There are a couple on the Spayne Road end that shout all the time,  in particular screaming 'move' randomly and swearing at players! I don't know what they think they are achieving by doing this, we all play a part in success, the manager is not solely to blame...we have to accept our part of the blame for poor home form.

I don't rate Chapman but shouting at him every time he moves, sneezes or coughs is terrible...

Attitude and nervousness from the fans transfers to the pitch. These are conference north players not multi millionaires and we must allow them space to be able to play football.

So negative! We all liked him when he played for us last two seasons. He cannot criticise someone having ambition and trying.

We could sign Messi on a free and people would be moaning we paid too much!

New to the forum after feeling a need to post after last night, just a few points:

1. I concur with the views on Chapman, I don't know what he does.  No mobility to get around the pitch, no composure, the game just by passes him, i honestly forget he is playing until he makes a mistake.

2. The midfield lacks any technical footballers with quality, yes vince is a young prospect but still learning! Need someone you can control the game in there! Chapman and Keane just get rid over the top looking for Kabo every time!

3. I don't understand for the life of me why AM didn't notice that out system couldn't cope with their wingers, it was obvious after 20 minutes. Just surprised it took 50 minutes to change to three at the back.

4. Positives - the front three look really good but the service into them is shocking. Jennings looked so much better in the number 10 role not having to worry about tracking wingers back giving him freedom to express himself

Saying all this, the attitude of the some of the people around me in the crowd is appalling! Moaning and shouting when the ball happens to go backwards when the game is crying out for some possession! Then moaning when the ball is lumped up! Berating young players when they try things and they don't come off! These players will not try to express themselves whilst elements of the crowd foam with anger when something doesn't come off!

Although I have aired my unhappiness here, it really  doesn't help shouting venom at these players.  Football is a process, we have to be realistic we are currently not good enough and lacking quality but this improves with confidence, something that this team appear short of.  Players don't improve through fear but encouragement!
