CHEER UP there are a few ex robins playing for us ;D .
Did any of this start when S&H were there?

It has been alleged the year they got promoted from the Unibond under S&H the players budget was £8K a week!!

Apparantly the wage bill for this season was £3K a week

That was still 3k more than they had

Looking at that table I wouldn't want to be a Hyde F.C. fan right now.

There's two ways of looking at this though. If Ilkeston do disappear, then it'll mean one less relegation space at the end of the season. And that will be good news for a poor side somewhere that would otherwise have gone down. I'd imagine that  the likes of Hyde, Redditch, Vauxhall Motors and Gainsborough wouldn't necessarily see the demise of Ilkeston as all bad.

  • I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request.

Like your work!

I would have thought the Hyde fans would just be happy to have a club still, much like Durham I tip my hat to them for limping through the season on minimal costs.  Maybe be if enough do this and live by their means, then some will survive the season and others will take note and follow suit.  That would make non league football a better place.

Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Again this is slightly heartless but does anyone know what happens in the FA Cup? Are Ilkeston still entered? Does someone in the next round have a bye? Or is there a lucky loser from today's matches?

Presumably they'll have to put them in the draw in case their appeal succeeds. So whoever draws them will get a bye if it doesn't.

Did they play on Saturday?

A very sad day, not least because Ilkeston was one of the closest games to me.  Apart from the FA Cup game, it was always a good ground to visit.

A lucky escape for Worksop too - they could have been in trouble if they hadn't moved their "home" games to Retford this year.

If the Ilson fans can get a new club going, maybe (with all our current connections to the old club) we could play a friendly there pre-season next year?
