From the horses mouth
« on: October 22, 2011, 07:47:27 PM »
Interesting to see pearson, church.elding,at the game today, after the cods lost last night, and when church was askedwhen hes coming back, his reply was if things carry on the way they are at grimsby mate sooner rather then later, and pearson was asked a similar question his answer was about the same so what do you reckon to that watch this space..... ;) ;)

Watched them last night, Grimsby were poor and Church in particular looked a shadow of the player we had.  Grimsby had no fight in them, no passion, no one to pull their sleeves up and say give it the 'right let's do this' attitude we had.  I'm sure Pinky and Perky will turn it round given time and I'm sure Pearson and Church will make the step up, again given time to adjust.

With all that being said and for all their pretty passing, Luton however did only manage 1 decent chance through a Grimsby error and for a fancied side, didn't look that great.

Liam Hearn looked a class act though. I don't remember him being as skillful as he was last night, all I remember is pace and power.

So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Does Churchy drive a big 4x4?  I though it was him following me into Boston but had assumed it wasn't, as I thought he'd be with Grimsby - didn't realise they'd played last night.

I can't see us getting them both on loan for rest of seaosn but even if it was 1-3 months I'd welcome them back with open arms. Although the deal with S/H was dodgy on GTFC's side if it meant Pearson/Chruch came here to gain their confidence again and it helped them make the step up in BSP I'd personally be happy for both of them. 2 of my favourite players to wear the shirt

When Church said "the way things are going at Gtimsby " he was probably referring to the finanical mess their in.      Do we need Pearson ?

Probably more Church than Pearson i think, taking the altrincham result out of the equation we'd have one of the best defences in the league, unfortunately its scoring goals which is the problem, Church would defo helpour midfield a lot.

On the flip side to that argument pearson scored 10 last season where as church scored less, But i see your point in needing a more advancing midfeilder,

Pearson and Church both scored 11 last season, plus Church scored a 12th in the shoot-out against guiseley library.

I agree soccermad .        The only way Pearson will score 11 goals this season is to link up with Yates at Gainsborough

No. Alan White is a very good replacement. Would they be able to play together? Lack of pace between them...

A Slurch partnership in midfield would be very welcome, though!
