The B-Ark / A little bit of Boston history soon to be gone....
« on: March 28, 2011, 05:03:35 PM »
Just been announced today that Hayes and Yeading's Church Road ground will be vacated at the end of the season and Hayes will ground share elsewhere whilst their new ground is being built on the site of the old Yeading ground.

I will never forget turning into Church Road on that day in 2002 and seeing the road lined with United fans waiting to get in for the biggest game in our history.  I have recently moved 5 minuted down the road from the ground and occasionally drive past and it still gives me goosebumps.

The B-Ark / Kit Locker
« on: January 10, 2011, 07:48:42 PM »
Just a quick one to ask if anyone else on here has had problems receiving items from Kit Locker?

My other half ordered me some United gear for Christmas on the 10th of December, the item states on the website states that it takes up to 14 days for delivery, so maybe cutting it a  bit fine.

The issue now is that she has e-mailed them as the item has not arrived and so far they have ignored the 3 e-mails that she has sent and when she tried to call today got an answer phone message that made no reference to Kit Locker.  She left a message anyway, yet still no reply.

Not happy at all to be honest, I think that the service we are getting is very poor, perhaps this is what happens when you outsource some of your clubshop sales.

Did anyone else see the interview on Sky Sports News earlier following last nights F.A. Cup win for Crawley Town?

Saying that if the scoreline had been 4 or 5 nil to Crawley it would have been deserved and how it was "embarrasing" at times to watch if you were a Swindon supporter due to the dominance of the lower league counterparts.

He then had the cheek to compare his situation to that of Chris Hughton, stating that he was living on a knife edge at all times because the owners were wanting success.

Sky Sports presenter asked how his time at Crawley compares to that at Boston to which his response was "We have owners who have the funds to sustain a promotion push and Crawley are not one or two season wonders".  I took that to mean that he has owners who dont let him do the books.....

The B-Ark / Would you believe it?

Thought I'd share this one with you all, I've been working very closely for the last 18 months with a bloke called Dave Laws who used to play for, amongst others Weymouth FC.

As you can imagine we regularly give him a bit of stick for being a non league legend so he brought in a scrap book today of newspaper cuttings over the years.

One of the articles was from his testimonial season when the reporter listed, in his opinion the best goals Dave had ever scored for Weymouth....What sat top of the shop?  A 25 yard screamer past Paul Bastock during our promotion season in the DML.

Needless to say a bit of colourful language was thrown Dave's way from my side of the room!!  I'm considering asking for a move  :D

The B-Ark / Have the wheels fallen off?
« on: November 06, 2010, 05:01:29 PM »
Is anyone else out there worried that the enforced two week break has seen us lose the great momentum that we had built up in the early stages of the season?

Admittedly, a decent point on Tuesday night, but two draws on the bounce.  Too many drawn games can hurt more than the occasional defeat.

I still have faith in the lad's, but cant help but worry.....Perhaps it comes with being a United fan all these years?!
