What was your impression of the stadium Ken?
It's a superb stadium. It's not York Street, but I'm sure Boston fans will grow to love it as much as they did the old one.
I arrived about ten minutes before kick off and it was pretty full. But I got a nice seat in the West Stand and got a great view of the match. No obstructing uprights and a clear view of both ends. It was quite cold though! In the shade and an easterly wind meant I was glad I had my coat on. Looks like the new Town End could do with a bit more height to the terracing. York Street Town End must have been one of the best non-league terraces out there, with great acoustics under the roof. Don't know if it can be extended upwards easily, but it would be nice if it could.
I didn't get a chance to check out the hospitality as I had to get the train back, but I'm checking it out today as the club have invited me to have a look around at the match as a "long-time supporter" - so I'm feeling old! From all accounts it's going to be really good.
I couldn't work out the buses - they didn't seem to co-ordinate with the train, but it was a nice day so I decided to walk down the A16. It's a bit of a trek - took half an hour and I got some exercise - and the footpath runs out on the stadium side just before you get there so you have to cross to the other side for the last few hundred yards before crossing back again. You'd think the council would have extended the footpath to provide good pedestrian and cycle access. I'll try the bus today.
