Anything but a win tomorrow and the chances are we will go into the holiday games bedded in the bottom half of the table . Two points cover us and the 5 teams below us .
-
I just hope that CE sets up to try to win the game.

Me too. He needs a win, that's for sure. As i said on another post, our last 5 league games have only yielded 2 points, only Nuneaton have less in that time.
-
We may need about 64 points to reach the lower end of the play-off places, which is another 38 points.
11 wins, 5 draws and 7 losses for example.

Me too, very windy so not a good day for hoof ball!

York may well set up for hoofball with Jon Larkin and Jordan Burrow up top, so it could well be a game played in the wind!
-
Wind has dropped considerably now, but does forecast rain later.

Doubt Parkin will play, he's not appeared for them much recently. They have Ironside on loan from Kiddy.
-
. They have "Ironside" on loan from Kiddy.
Will he be mobile enough in his wheelchair? ;)

Looks like they seem to go for ageing strikers, whoo are probably past there best playing day's.

3 nil win today.
-
Worked hard today....thought Max Wright was excellent, defence played well, Agnew excellent until he tired, but despair with Abbot who gave the ball away or went backwards.
-
I can't say that anybody in our team had a bad game... certainly stepped it up in the second half, and deserved the win.
-
A great win, could have been 4 nil! ;DI :police:
-
Abott was crap 😀

How dare you?

Stop it PLEASE.

I cannot believe a home fan calling a player crap we win two nil against a team like York and don’t focus on the positive. Head your head I’m shame. Perhaps it wasn’t his best game but focus on George on top of his game max who I wasn’t a fan of but has turned me round. Great result. Shocking attitude

thank goodness for that then! 3 much needs points in the bsg, a decent performance and a clean sheet. Well done all round. Midfield looks much better with 3 in it, and Max Wright has put in another cracking display. No wonder Wafula and Hine have been let go, neither could get anywhere near Max's quality today.

"A team like York".....ffs they were crap. The standard of football in this league this year is very very poor 😘

Can anyone explain what the York GK had done to incur the wrath of the Town End in such a pointed way?
-
Yes, I'd like to know too!
-
Perhaps but focus on the postive a win clean sheet rather than slate our own player. Best you watch more Bt sport I guess you never have a bad day at work. I stick but more comment crap comment.
-
I much prefer a bloke saying "it's a good thing your not going to the pub after this" to me after the end of the game because I questioned his need to slag the ref off. I couldn't care less if she got some things wrong (personally think she wasn't as bad as the last time she reffed our game) especially when we came out with 3 points and a great team display, clap the team off (which strangely he didn't do?) and celebrate them instead of focusing on the negatives. No need for the effing and jeffing or the threat.
-
Yes, I'd like to know too!
So this is the level we are at, where everyone is more interested in off field antics than the game 😭

I believe he was accused of spitting at our fans last season. They remembered and gave him a warm welcome.

Yep, was at the final whistle away last season.

Happy Chubby tonight.
Well done everyone.

Just watched York City's manager Sam Collins slag his player's off for 10 minutes on his post match interview.
Looks like he has got a real team spirit going on.
Never heard anything like it, he just moans on about how bad the players are, but doesn't mention once that it might actually be the fact that he got his tactics wrong or Boston just were better than them.
What a complete cock.

they must have some serious issues! I remember last year after we'd beaten them, despite the fact they were about 6th, their fans were all over their chariman/manager/team saying that they had collectively ruined the club and it's the worst they'd ever known it. It's good to know that despite what's been a bit of a topsy turvy campaign, we are in a better place than they are, in every sense of the word.
-
Watching York yesterday they played like a real tin pot team , if you didn't know you would not recognise they were a full-time team on big wages .
Their fans are entitled to complain .
-
York were absolutely abysmal. Disappointed we only won 2-0.
-
They are obviously have huge problems at York City on and off the field.
With a new stadium being built you would have thought things would be buzzing there.
The problems have been going on for years at the club, and from what was on show yesterday, you could easily see them getting relegated again, based on the lack of fight and commitment from the players.
The manager is doing the blame game and his public slagging off of the players wasn't smart.

They had struggled in League 2 for a few years; however appointing Jackie McNamara Manager in 2015 threw them into financial freefall. Unable to keep them in the FL in his first season, during the following summer he was given an open cheque book to get them back in League 2. Around 20 players given lucrative 2 yr deals, this only brought another relegation to the CN. Falling attendances, mounting debts, massive contract pay outs to numerous unwanted players, a royal mess. The supporters community trust rejected a local companies attempt to finance the club pre season after McNamara ( who was sacked as manager in 2017 & promoted to Chief Executive?) was forced out, along with the Chairman. A York fan I worked with recently said they are in "financial meltdown & the slide is way from over".

Really not good news Champs, so they could be sat in a new stadium but bankrupt.
Didn't they get a parachute payments from being relegated from the FL, or doesn't that apply to that league.
-
Yes YC, as with all relegated League 2 clubs York City received a £472,0000 parachute payment for their fated season in the Conference. Last season in the CN they received a further parachute payment of £236,000. Not forgetting during their final season in League 2; as with all other clubs in that Division, they would have received a £472,000 Premier League basic award + a £430,000 Premier League solidarity payment.

OMG I am shocked, what the hell have they done with all that money, we and many more clubs like us can only dream of such funds.
If they have squandered all of that money they deserve to go bankrupt.
When some non-league are being wound up in the high court for debt's of less than £100k it's really disgusting that clubs like York get this kind of money.
-
Yes and we got nothing >:(

Yes and we got nothing >:(
But we did get The Chestnuts, and they would seem to be providing a more likely decent future for our club than all the parachute payments have for York. I know which camp I'd sooner be in. UTP.

Totally agree, let's be honest we would have been history without them. They have guided us through stormy waters & steadied the Pigrims ship. Also given us a solid foundation to build on, not boom & bust.

Totally agree with you Champs, they have done a great job.

I meant in parachute payments. If I remember right, payments were withheld due to debts owed within football. These debts came nowhere near the amount we should have received.
