Conference North 2013/14
« on: May 18, 2013, 03:14:35 PM »

Bishop's Stortford moved into the South... I would therefore expect our Boxing Day/New Year's Day fixtures to be against Histon, as Tinpot should get North Ferriby.

I find it amazing how there are no teams in the Derby/Nottingham/Leicester are at our level!

Nothing is final until after the AGM Cup - Still time for a club or two to go pop like Aldershot

I find it annoying how there are no teams in the Derby/Nottingham/Leicester area at our level!

Hinckley, Nuneaton, Corby, Eastwood, Ilkeston .... all gone. My shortest trip next season is probably going to be York Street.

Awful League to be in. Please, please, please, let's get out of it. We need proper Conference football.
Alan Partridge: "I bet I've got more friends than you've got cows. How many cows have you got?"
Farmer: "I've got 100 cows."
AP: "Well, I've got 104 friends!"

Our geographical location is always going to be awkward with few teams within 20 or 30 miles and still not many within 60-70 miles... but to be looking at only 3 teams within 100 miles is not mega

Easily solved. We need to drop into the United Counties League.

Well living away from the transport hotbed of South Lincs does have its perks from time to time! Still doesn't make the trek to Workington seem shorter or less expensive mind!

It grieves me to say that you may have missed good old Tinpot Trinity who were league members between 1896 and 1912.

However you may be right at 6 depending how one views Bradford PA - There seems to be some contention over whether or not they truly represent or have viable links to the old BPA or not.

I included Trinity, but didn't include the new BPA - Barrow, us, Stalybridge, Stockport and Workington?

You can't count the new Bradford.

I could be wrong, but didn't Barrow pull off a dodgy reformation stunt a few years back that opened up their history for a spot of debate? Might be pre-internet age and so hard to find details online. I read it in Town End Tales I think (that well known objective source of news!).

Conference Premier isn't much better -  but we are in a regionalised league, so in theory at least we should be better off.
For part time players it's a hard slog.

Ferriby could get Harrogate, allowing Trinity v Boston at Boxing Day/ New year
