Welcome to Pilgrims Patter
Probably from the Lavaflow era !!!!
Lincolnshire Heritage have descovered that Roman remains have been identifiedwithin the proposed Quadrant site. While not objecting to the planning application they are advising that a scheme of works be carried out before any construction can begin if planning is granted.
The Archaeological Assessment of the Quadrant site can be found here:http://thequadrantboston.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Archaeological-Desk-Based-Assessment.pdfIn summary a few fragments of roman pottery were found in the north west of the site in 1995, so there may be a roman settlement nearby. So an archaeological field evaluation is recommended when planning permission is granted. Fairly standard stuff - shouldn't take much effort. They've also spotted that there's a Grade I church tower visible from the site just 2.5km away.
Thought you would know that, o fount of all knowledge. I think it is the developers, after all they are making the profit. Probably stick it on the price of the houses. QED
