The B-Ark / Vs Curzon Ashton
« on: December 20, 2016, 10:31:29 PM »
At last, a team runs out in amber shirts that look like they're a unit and want to wear the shirt. One swallow doesn't make a summer, but draw away and win at home are a good foundation and good start. Well done everyone.

The B-Ark / "Pilgrims are an absolute shambles defensively"
« on: December 06, 2016, 08:35:50 PM »
It's taken 37 minutes for Andrew Simpson from Cheshire (tweeting on tonight's Witton cup tie) to form this opinion. Why has it taken 23 matches for us to still be working out if we have anyone fit enough to pull on the shirt at the back, and what's the best combination? Time for the senior players to stand up and put a shift in. And I include EVERY one of them in that comment.

There's been yet another massacre! Well done to u-19's who've mullered Maltby Main 10-0 today. As well as the team going one better the AFC Fylde, well done to Liam Adams, who went one better than Danny Rowe, and bagged himself 5 today. Well done to everyone.

The B-Ark / Krankenwagen nach Dortmund bitte
« on: November 22, 2016, 10:18:50 PM »
Or for those that don't do German....there's been another massacre.
Borussia Dortmund 8 Legia Warsaw 4.
It's not just the Pilgrims after all! Legia scored first, but had conceded 5 before half time. Almost sounds familiar? I bet the 640 miles to Warsaw seems a long way back! Legia are 12 times Polish champions and 18 times domestic cup winners, current champions of Poland, play in a 30,000+ stadium, have a 35 player squad with 9 more out on loan. The moral of the story is whoever you are, sh*t still happens and all the history, squad, talent, facilities and resources are a guarantee of absolute bugger all in this game.

Curzon beat Halifax today 4-2 and ended the game with 8 men! Remarkable!

The B-Ark / Another away day in the Trophy
« on: November 14, 2016, 01:59:24 PM »
Trophy draw sees us on our travels again at Witton Albion.
A quick look says they're 5th in their league, unbeaten at home, and did something we couldn't in the last round and beat Kettering!
Happy days.

The B-Ark / Vs Brackley
« on: November 12, 2016, 12:26:45 PM »
Stats and form don't mean a thing, so ahead of the game, i'll say well done Dennis, great win for the Pilgrims...why? I'll tell you why...statistically a Brackley win seems very likely...they're unbeaten away in the league this season, we haven't yet won a league game at home on a Saturday this season, and (I'm sure to corrected if I'm wrong) I don't ever remember beating Brackley at home...however, a very soggy afternoon, and what could be a mare of a surface could well be a proverbial leveller, and they've got an eye on a mid-week televised cup replay...so all things considered, the form book will go upside down and we will slug out a victory......😀

The B-Ark / ROCHDALE NAME TERMINALLY ILL KID IN SQUAD
« on: November 09, 2016, 05:07:48 PM »
Massive reality check for all moaners . clappers and in-betweeners...we need more of this in football.
Check out the story on BBC or Rochdale's site.
Well done Rochdale, what else is there to say?

The B-Ark / Telford away
« on: November 05, 2016, 02:24:17 PM »
Smithy on the bench and Fairhurst keeps his place? What the chuff? Settled side, but at what cost? Also, looks like today's ref is the one who sent off Joe at Kettering in the cup.

The B-Ark / Large numbers of players used
« on: October 29, 2016, 11:54:22 AM »
I've been critical over the revolving door regarding players this season, but my son just gave me a program from this weekend 5 years ago against Colwyn Bay. After 18 games under Lee and Canno we'd already used 29 players. Some things don't change! No one was ever present and top scorer was Newsh with 5 and Jason Lee with 4. I could help finding some ironic comparisons....only difference is we were 7th!

The B-Ark / Untapped potential...
« on: October 29, 2016, 11:28:57 AM »
Dipdodah makes a point on another thread about an untapped resource for United. The large number of foreign nationals are potential money through the turnstyles is his thought. Well, why not go further and offer open trials? Surely there must be a player or two out there? Lori Borbeli has been a great servant to Town for years. Maybe there's someone like him about? Our injury hit squad would surely have a space or two if there was a good enough player? And their friends and families might just come to watch, thus increasing to gate.
