I never expected that the proposed mini-league would go ahead but seeing as the National League is a team short I was hoping that common sense would prevail and allow the top 8 of each league to participate in a competition if they wanted to.

Could have been like the previous Euro format, 4 groups of 4 (regionalised to avoid travel) and the QF’s onwards with the winner taking the vacant NL spot. Would have generated a bit of interest and some steaming income for the clubs.

Instead the NL will run a team short which will cost the teams money as it’s one less game and hate receipts.

I see Colby Bishop scored another 2 goals for Accrington the other night. When he played for us under AM, he couldn't hit a barn door at 20 paces. They must have him on a black pudding diet at Stanley and it's worked! Good luck to him anyway, he might be playing in the Championship next season.

I didn't see him in all of his games for us but there was nothing in there to suggest to me that he would make it at Football League level, good job I'm not a scout. Must have improved a hell of a lot, good luck to him.

There been enough ‘public’ votes at NLN and NLS clubs for a majority of null and void, so if the resolution to allow clubs to vote on their own steps passes (which looks likely), then that’s it for this season at our level.

That then leaves the possibility of the National League (step 1) voting to carry on but several clubs have already announced they’re furloughing players and if forced to continue will use local players. Could end up as a complete farce (if not already) with clubs losing 25-0 to teams like Notts County every week.

Unfortunately this season was doomed the moment they decided to start without any sort of plan on what would happen when the grant money ran out in January.

In other FA Trophy related news, Stamford knocked out Kidderminster (who are full time by the way) this evening.

The 'handbags' one is unlikely to get you in trouble really, that was actually a fairly common saying when players had a 'disagreement' on the field. However the other two just show what a dinosaur he is.

This is clearly not as bad as the Andy Gray/Richard Keys incident(s) and I don't think he needs to be publicly hung drawn and quartered as he's clearly not a bad bloke, but I can't see how he can have any complaints about getting hooked to be honest.

New stadium this year, heard they had ambitions of going full time but unsure if they actually are at this stage.

Must be some money floating around there though to suddenly be attracting Chester's best player from last season.

That’s not bad value. Southport charging double that, which I think is too much for a dodgy stream of a non-league football match.

Looks like we're among the majority of clubs that do not want the season to start without fans.

So it's either a season with streaming (if possible) or no season at all. Can't see there's much chance of any Governmental support being anywhere near what is required to subsidize this.

Guess this now depends on the viability of streaming. Will any income from that be enough to tide clubs over? If fans are completely ruled out until at least the spring then it may be easier just to consider a ‘freeze’ for this season, as much as that would be unpalatable.
