The B-Ark / Re: Jim Rodwell in Notts County takeover?
« on: February 26, 2010, 09:52:53 AM »
Evans makes the Guardian's Digger column again....when does this 'what goes around comes around' thing  kick in? I want to see him fall on his arse not feature in broadsheets.

When Digger asked Notts County about Steve Evans's claim that he had been offered the manager's job by the chief executive, Jim Rodwell, the club's new owner Ray Trew sought swiftly to distance his club from Evans, who was given a suspended jail sentence for tax fraud relating to secret playing contracts at Boston United. Rodwell and Evans are old chums after a partnership as director of football and manager, respectively, at the Lincolnshire club. "Whilst Mr Evans continues to maintain contact with the chief executive, who is a personal friend, their conversations have not involved any talk of offering Mr Evans a position here at Notts County."

Here's todays bit from the Guardian's Digger column:

Rodwell's rocky road
As Ray Trew, Notts County's new owner, considers whether to place the club into administration over the mountain of debt he fears is on the horizon, the decision looks set to impinge heavily on the career of the club's new chief executive, Jim Rodwell. Under the Football Association's fit and proper person test, no one may be "a director of at least two football clubs that have each entered into an insolvency event" while the individual was serving on the board "during any five year period commencing on or after 1 February 2005". Rodwell, a 39-year‑old former lower-league full-back, was the chairman at Boston United when it entered into a company voluntary arrangement in 2007. If County do enter administration, Rodwell would have to remain out of football boardrooms at least until after the 2011-12 season – which given that he inherited the Meadow Lane mess seems a little harsh.

The B-Ark / Forest connections

Couple of Satdy's ago I went to Forest v Shef Wed and I've just got round to reading the programme.
On the photo archives page is a slim Tony 'The Crane' Crane tackling Marlon Harewood in Dec2002; Jason Lee complete with famous haircut scoring in Dec1995; and Stan Collymore scoring in April1995 (I include Stan as according to Steve he did actually sign for us)!
It also mentions one of their football in the community staff being Lawrie Dudfield.

The B-Ark / advent calendar & Ebay

Like the advent calandar offers on the official site - nice idea which I've made use of.
Whilst looking for bufc related goodies for Xmas - I see that there's a ball being advertised on ebay signed by a convicted criminal !! he he
I reckon i've got a club party invitation signed by evans himself somewhere - maybe ebay experts can tell me if stuff related to criminals is worth listing! Perhaps it would be worth more if he'd actually been thrown inside!

Ah the near post corner for Dave to flick it to the far post with his nose!
It was good but there was never seemingly a different corner.
Anyroad glad to read he'd alive as there had been some doubt after a bad accident after which news dried up.
Sterland-dear oh dear. Oops there's a post office safe in my garage.
Then again we could have been promoted during his time as manager if JB had  done his stuff and not listened to Pat - and we may then have never heard of S Evans esq. We could still have been trundling along in the Conf National but with a clear conscience. Oh well

Hey Sherrif Shodfried
As you may know, Roy lives up here in Louth these days so you might see him around. I also work with his nephew - a most polite chap. It's acting. You niver know he might agree to a double bill with Bruin.
