James McKeown
« on: December 27, 2010, 11:57:52 AM »

I read with interest the inevitable return to London Rd the home of Peterborough Utd loanee
McKeown at some point after the New Years fixtures. The article in the Non League website
pages also makes the point of telling Pilgrim fans that the Management appear to be showing
little faith in Aron Butcher in handing him the No1 jersey.

The lad has just returned I think from a loan spell and is back to square one imo... lets hope
Scott and Hurst see sense and release the lad from his contract and let him find a Club that
want him and he can start enjoying his football once again.

Will be disappointed to lose McKeown. Personally, I think Butcher deserves more of a chance and has never let us down when called upon, but the managers obviously have their own views.

Has anyone got any suggestions around which goalkeepers (with Conference North experience) we might be looking to sign? Without waving a cheque book around (and I doubt that will happen) it'll be hard to sign a goalkeeper who is already number one with a rival club. Options therefore might be a bit limited.

What has Simon Rayner been doing since his release from Crawley?

I would think Rayner will have found his level further down the leagues .     Phil  Barnes from trinity would be a great signing but not at trinitys great wages .

Sorry, but Butcher is not the answer.  He does not command his area and is liable to let in more than the odd soft goal.  Good luck to the lad, but if we have asperations of getting promoted we need an established keeper.
