Graham Drury
-
Not exactly got a great track record in this league but we have to give him a chance and it is nice to have someone fresh involved.
-
Confirmed on official site, for those thinking its another rumour! ;)
http://www.bostonunited.co.uk/news/drury-named-new-united-manager-801532.html
-
Drury will be joined at The Jakemans Stadium by head coach Paul Holden and conditioning coach Dean West, who embarks on a third spell with the Pilgrims following playing stints in 1992-1993 and 2004-2005, which culminated in seven goals in 35 appearances for United.
-
And we now have a ' conditioning coach ' !
-
I did chuckle at that! Nice change of title for the role :)
-
Sorry did I read that correctly? The Board has aspirations?!
Does anyone know what these actually are - apart from eventually developing Tattershall Road and repaying £1 million to some mysterious creditor on the balance sheet? :bunny
Chris, you're on the Board. Please enlighten us? Do you actually have any objectives set? A business plan perhaps and monthly management accounts and meeting minutes?
-
Good to see Dean West back at the club as Conditioning Coach .
I am sure KON will enlighten us as to the difference between C/C and fitness coach
-
P leased Dean West is involved.. looks like a good package .
-
Are we sure it's not just Gary Silk in a suit?

maybe he is driving the air conditioned coach?
-
Are we the only BSBN club to have an MBE as assistant manager?
-
Still laughing somewhat ..thought conditioner was something u got from Boots !
-
Not my choice, but will reserve judgement 'til the end of February.
-
Caretaker manager at Stamford is.... David Staff!
-
End of Feb seems fair ernie 100 , The honeymoon period will end Boxing day for the less tolerent fans !!
-
All set for the return of Gary King! ;)
Well he did play for Drury at Corby & Stamford

Please Finchley don't even joke about such things.
-
But how long's the contract ?
-
So its young Mr Drury and he will be introduced to us tonight. It will be interesting to see how many from this forum attend and what questions or comments they will make, or will they remain annonymous and put them all on here. I will be there and look forward to hearing what has impressed the board so much and may even ask the odd question. What do you think those questions should be? I don't mind asking if they are reasonable are in the interest of the club and supporters.

I can see it now, a front two of Gary King & Ricky Miller

I'd have Ricky Miller, great little striker when he was here a few years ago
-
With the list of applicants, how do we end up with this little tosser
-
Hope it's not a case of "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". :(

Somebody isn't a fan on Wikipedia

Personally out of all the names mentioned GD is the one that I preferred. I'd imagine we'll become harder to beat as every time we played one of his Corby sides they where well organised defensively.
I know this won't suit some but I'd take Ricky Miller back as well although up front isn't somewhere we need strengthening so can't see that one.
I'd like to see us go in for Towers from Worksop Finchley, he's played under Drury before so could be a target ;)
-
he has a contact :)
Graham was a reserve team player at Grantham under Martin O’Neill
-
Corby, stamford and now boston! Has this been done before?
-

Behave yourself!! However, there are some other Worksop players you could take ;)
Seriously though, although Towers splits opinion at Worksop I certainly believe he is good enough to play at Conf N level. He is on contract so would cost you ££££££££'s
-
Questions: -
How many times has he seen BUFC play in last 2 seasons?
Does he know any of our players and does he rate them?
What does he love about BUFC and what are his targets?
What aspect is his first priority to improve?
Will he be shipping out lots of players and bringing others in?
-
Does he have a brother to take on the scout role
-
Does he have a brother to take on the scout role
Lol!!!!! :D :D
-
I think he'll be more vocal than JL on the touchline...
-
I am assuming then that his CN experience was one of the biggest facters in DN giving him the job, that and from what people say his list of player contacts.
That initself begs the poser as most normally do, will he bring anyplayers with him from stamford especially as many looking at their profiles have played in the CN. Tho i have no idea about how good moat of them are, Gary King, no,no, no, Robbie Maddox, Paul Mayo, Andy Hall, James Ozman and of coure Ricky Millar (who personally even tho as Woad says we need defenders more urgently than forwards, I would definitly have back) have all played with Drury at Corby as too has Jonesy's brother a centre half, who is i think is now captain of stamford, does anyone know how good he is? Plus if his contact book is that big how many others may arrive from all over the place, could he bring in too many players.
All very interesting

Please give the new boss a chance guys. The majority wanted Jason Lee to leave remember?. He is hungry for success, good motivator and i believe has good local contacts. Not sure whether he will add the extra 300 or so on the gate but with the correct results who knows. Welcome on board Graham and Co.UTP
-
Knows the local area well, hasn't got on bad at this previous clubs either.
Think he will become a good appointment!

Second that milo, I was one of those who wanted J Lee out, I think he should have gone when canners got the push, Rumour had it that when JL got the job after Scott and Hurst left for GY, G Drury was one of the applicants for the previous vacancy, Mr Newton said himself that JL was not the 1st choice applicant at that time, was G Drury that original 1st choice last time? , only the board know that answer, Good luck Graham Drury and team, the fans will come back if they see the team and management are all pulling together to get up that league table.
-
UNDER DRURY i think by the new year we will see all our defence apart from SILK gone,
All our m/field gone, apart from MILNE's and JONE's as a m/fielder
i think he will keep NEWSHAM and S,W.D.
HE will bring better player's in at no extra cost, that's what he's good at trust him.
-
"conditioning coach" that will have KON pulling his hair out, whats the betting he calls it a sham, and poo poo s it

Fairly positive about Drury as Manager.
Local and managed and done ok at this level.
The priority for him must be to sort out our defense we never look like keeping a clean sheet. If he can make us more solid at the back then we'll do well and the season may not be already over.
-
Hopefully I'll get down to the ground in an hour and see what he's got to say.
As good as we could have hoped for really and although not one to get the pulses racing a sensible appointment all things considered.
I'm a lot more positive with this appointment than I was JL's 18 months ago.
-
Perhaps someone could ask him why he changed his mind about applying? Only a couple of weeks ago there were media reports of him distancing himself from the vacancy.....

Should know better than believe the papers YSP.

You didn't rate Jason? should have said.
-
It's a relief 8)
-
Under the circumstances a very sensible appointment, a manager who will judge the squad on merit, has decent contacts at this level and will have a better idea about sorting the defence out than the last manager.
And another fitness coach ! :), Dean West who I remember being a very good servant for us

KON is positive? Steady on or the Happy Clappers recruitment team will be round your house shortly.
-
I have already recruited him to the happy clapper club Cavalier.
-
Surely they should henceforth be known as The Blockheads?
-

They say lightning doesn't strike twice Ken.........does it? ???
-
When I heared who got the job my first two immediate thoughts were,
1. Not feeling excited or inspired, soon be at FCs level.
2. Thought we would have got someone with more experience.
So, I hope he is a walk the walk kinda man and not just a talk the talk kind.
Anyway, give the man a chance, see what happens. Good luck to him.
