Lincoln Moorlands Railway sign Matt O'Halloran ahead of Parkgate clash

LINCOLN MOORLANDS RAILWAY have signed midfielder Matt O'Halloran from city rivals Lincoln United.

The former Boston midfielder (pictured below) turned down the chance to join Chris Moyses' ambitious Northern Counties East League Premier Division side in the summer, but has opted to make the switch in search of first team football.

O'Halloran will go straight into the Moors' team for tonight's home game with Parkgate (7.45pm).

"Matt has not been getting a lot of football this year," said Moyses.

"He was a target of mine in pre-season and I tried to entice him to the club, but unfortunately I could not do that.

"But I spoke to him again and he said he wanted to come and play for us."

Lincoln's clash with Parkgate represents the first of six home clashes in the next seven games for the club.

They currently sit second bottom with just six points from six games played but, because of their FA Cup exploits, have as many as seven games in hand on some of their rivals.

Meanwhile, Gainsborough have singned striker Ryan Kendall to a permanent contract.

It was a game we rarely looked like winning until O'Halloran popped up with an absolute screamer. I can see it now!
