Lincoln 10k
« on: January 31, 2012, 10:51:00 AM »
Hi I am running the Lincoln 10k this year for Macmillan Cancer research and would greatly appreciate any donations however great or small.  I don't have any personal reasons for choosing this charity it is just one that I have great admiration for and if I can help in any way I will do my best.  I am currently in training, running between 5k-10k 3 times a week and know that I can complete the course in about 1 hour however I am setting a personal target of 50 mins.  Thank you for taking the time to read this post

If you would like to donate you can at my just giving page via this link http://www.justgiving.com/casperpilgrim

Kind regards

Good luck and have fun! It's a nice flat one I believe so 50 mins should be doable - just don't get carried away and go off too quick and blow up half way round!

I'm planning on doing the Bradford 10K on that Sunday (25th March). I'm still trying to break 40 mins unless I manage it at the Dewsbury 10K this Sunday!

Cheers Ken and thanks for pinning my post much appreciated!  I am currently trying to achieve a constant pace so I don't over do it at the start.  If people want to see how my training is going before they donate I use Nike+ GPS and it auto post to my twitter account which can be viewed at https://twitter.com/Casperpilgrim

Think I'm doing the Jane Tomlinson thing again this year (Leeds and York?)

Not asking for sponsors or anything though and don't intend to do any training other than preparing a playlist, a list of excuses and a list of moans and gripes to send the other halfs way as I didn't get a say in being entered.
So many people have come and gone, their faces fade as the years go by.
Yet I still recall as I wander on, as clear as the sun in the summer sky.

Just a quick Update, its a week to go till the Lincoln 10k and training is going well.  Currently running 10k in 52 mins comfortably so should be good for 50mins on the day.  I am still posting runs on my twitter @casperpilgrim and I am still welcoming donations for Macmillan cancer at www.justgiving.com/casperpilgrim.  Up to £35 online and approximately £250 on my sponsor form.

Final update and closure of my Lincoln 10k.  I raised £404 via the old fashioned sponsor form and cash method and £50 via my just giving account so a final grand total of £454 thanks Ken for your support and if ever i can return the favour just ask!  I think i'm hooked on this running now can't wait for the London Marathon ballot to open on monday going to put my name down for that. Thanks again
