The B-Ark / 6pm Tonight!
« on: May 15, 2010, 01:29:42 PM »
Boston United’s promotion parade takes place at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday afternoon — with club officials hoping for a bumper turnout.

The Pilgrims’ promotion-winning players and managers will be welcomed home and various elements of the United set-up will be introduced on-pitch too.

BBC Lincolnshire correspondent Scott Dalton will host the event — with the Community Football Club, Centre of Excellence, youth team and college team, Study Support Centre, United in the Community, club staff, volunteers, Pilgrim Lounge staff and matchday stewards and medics being introduced.

The club’s board of directors — David Newton, Neil Kempster and Chris Cook — will also greet the crowd, before the United players and joint managers Rob Scott and Paul Hurst complete the procession.

Gates open at 5.00pm — with admission FREE in the Fantasy Island Stand.

Please listen for PA announcements throughout the afternoon regarding opportunities for photographs with the three trophies won during the season — the UniBond Premier League play-off trophy, the UniBond League Challenge Cup and the Lincolnshire Senior Shield.

The snack bar underneath the Fantasy Island Stand will be open from 5.00pm, although The Pilgrim Lounge will close directly after the televised FA Cup final.

Copies of ‘We Are Going Up’ — a photographic review of United’s brilliant season — will be available inside the stadium and from the ticket office.

Copies are priced £3 each and represent a terrific keepsake following the successes of the 2009-2010 campaign.

The club have a bit of a dilemma at the moment. There is a lack of Amber material on the market, so we are thinking of going a little bit more orange for this coming season ...maybe being a bit retro with us celebrating 25 years since Wembley and we played in orange that season.

What are your thoughts?

The B-Ark / Earn some money and support the club!

I am looking for Agents to sell tickets for events in The Pilgrim Lounge. Very good commission will be paid on each ticket sold.

For example, should you sell a ticket for 'The Paul Rogers & Queen Tribute Band' HEARTBREAKER on Saturday 30th January priced at £3 you will earn £1 in commission.

Should you sell a ticket for 'The Comedy Club' on Saturday 6th February priced at £8 each you will earn £2 in commission.

Should you manage to sell 20 tickets for any event you will also receive 2 FREE Tickets to the event!

You will be issued with 10 tickets for a start, but hopefully you can come back to me for more as you sell them, I will keep in contact with you to hear how many you have sold. You will be provided with as many posters as you require to promote the events in your workplace, football club, social club, etc.

Obviously this would help the club big time and at the same time it could pay your admission to a 'United' game! If you are interested please contact me on 01205 355355 or 07946 748 333.
Your help would be very much appreciated.
Chris Cook

Tickets for this Saturday night featuring Motown/Soul band 'SOULED OUT' are selling slowly and after a meeting with the Chairman we are wondering what we have to do to get a few people in the club on a saturday night!

Has anyone got any suggestions, we can't keep spending £300 plus on a band every weekend and £100+ on advertising etc for only 50 people to turn up week in week out. We have to start supporting these events or it will go back to the way it was.

Perhaps some supporters may be interested in becoming an agent and taking some posters and tickets to sell to your friends or workmates with the proviso that for every 10 you sell you can have 2 free tickets. Or if there is a local shop that would advertise and sell tickets on a commission basis?

We are quite willing to listen to any constructive criticism, but please come out and support these events otherwise there won't be any events ....or even a club to support!

« on: September 07, 2009, 07:09:29 AM »
Can't say too much about saturday's performance, but I am sure the lads will put things right tomorrow night!
Saturday night in the Pilgrim Lounge was great, full house, everyone dancing, and a lot of smiling faces. Many thanks to everyone who supported the event, this was the first of many.
This saturday sees a 6 piece 'smooth jazz/pop/blues band called 'Vanilla Smooth' appearing, don't be put off by their description of music, they are really good.
Tickets once again are £2 or £3 on the door. Tickets available from the behind the bar, United Box Office or Chris Cook Print.
Once again the club appreciate your support, see you there on Saturday night and good luck to the lads tomorrow night, I am sure that was a one off on Saturday!
