The B-Ark / Reserves Tomorrow
« on: September 03, 2010, 09:15:54 PM »
Why not come along to The Jakemans Stadium and watch the Reserves v Lincon United Reserves?
The Jakemans Stadium encounter — kick-off 3.00pm — will afford United the opportunity to record a third successive victory, following last weekend’s 5-0 success over Ruston Sports, and another 5-0 win the weekend before against Heckington United.

Around 70 people attended last weeks game, let's see if we can get a few more down to support the young lads! ....the Reserves are a self funded team and the more support through the gates help the club's finances. We appreciate your support ....and the Pilgrim Lounge is open before and after the game as well!

Big striker Micky Stones will be hoping for a starting place after two cameo roles as sub each time has ended with him scoring two goals each time! Tricky winger Liam Ogden is back in contention following a bout of flu which saw him miss last weeks game. Unfortunately Jason Field misses out through an injury incurred while playing for the youth team.

The Fantasy Island Stand is open for supporters, with admission prices set at £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.

United (from): Drury, Hewitt, Bishop, Butler, Cook, Nichols, Ogden, Owen, Price, Sergeant, Stones, Tate, Ward, Wilson, N. Rawdon, J. Rawdon, A. Shinn, S. Lovett, S. Dawson.

Ross Nichols and Luke Wilson are back in contention for Boston United Reserves ahead of Saturday’s home clash against Ruston Sports in the Lincolnshire League.

Liam Ogden was United’s destroyer-in-chief, providing assists for three of the goals scored and he is expected to start once more. Gareth Davies and Liam Parker are back on first team duty, while young defender Jack Carter is sidelined through injury.

Nathan Rawdon, John Rawdon, Steve Lovett, Andrew Shinn and Scott Dawson are also missing.

Liam Parker and Gareth Davies will both play for Boston United Reserves in their opening Lincolnshire League fixture of the season on Saturday.

The Pilgrims’ second string will entertain Heckington United at The Jakemans Stadium — kick-off 3.00pm — as the new Lincolnshire League campaign gets under way.

Parker (back) and Davies (knee) have not played any part in the first team’s pre-season schedule, but will make long-awaited returns to action on Saturday afternoon.

Jason Field, who played a number of matches for the first team in pre-season, will also figure for Glen Maddison’s United side.

On the flipside, Maddison is without the services of seven reserve team players, with Andrew Shinn, Ross Nichols and Scott Dawson all injured, while Nathan Rawdon, Steve Lovett, Nathan Cook and Luke Wilson are all unavailable.

The Fantasy Island Stand will be open, with admission prices set at £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.

United (from): Drury, Hewitt, Bishop, Butler, Carter, Davies, Field, Kishere, Ogden, Owen, Parker, Price, J Rawdon, Sergeant, Sevilha, Stones, Tate, Ward.

The B-Ark / Some more sad news
« on: August 11, 2010, 11:20:06 AM »
Exeter City have announced that striker Adam Stansfield has died of cancer at the age of 31.
Stansfield was diagnosed with bowel cancer following a series of tests for an abdominal complaint in April, after being admitted to hospital in March.
The former Yeovil and Hereford player scored seven goals in 19 appearances for Exeter last season.
The League One side made a statement on its website after a 3-2 home Carling Cup defeat by Ipswich on Tuesday.
"It is with great sadness that Exeter City Football Club have to confirm the news that Adam Stansfield passed away this evening,"

The B-Ark / The Reserves
« on: July 23, 2010, 10:15:07 AM »
I went to watch the reserves last night at Holbeach and was really impressed, especially with one young lad called Harry Deane, he played out on the right wing in the first half and was superb. Certainly one to look out for, but he wasn't the only one, each and everyone put on a terrific performance. Well done lads!

From the Official Site:
Boston United Reserves produced an excellent performance to thrash Holbeach United 4-0 at Carters Park on Thursday evening.

The excellent Harry Deane fired Boston into an early lead and an own goal doubled the tally before half-time.

Substitute Andrew Shinn added a well-executed third eight minutes after the break, before Shane Clancy capped the win with a brilliant fourth in stoppage time, following excellent work down the right from Tom Sergeant.

Andy Hewitt also saved a penalty with the score at 3-0.

The Pilgrims’ second string return to action next Thursday and Friday with trips to Horncastle and King’s Lynn Town Reserves respectively.

Boston (4-4-2): Ricky Drury (Andy Hewitt 46); Luke Wilson (Nathan Rawdon 46), Jack Carter (Nick Bishop 46), Simon Ashton, Jason Field (Tom Sergeant 68); Harry Deane, John Rawdon (Nathan Cook 46), Ross Nichols (Grant Butler 46), Shane Clancy; Mickey Stones (Carl Tate 46), Pedro Silva (Andrew Shinn 46).

« on: June 07, 2010, 11:54:29 AM »
I know that most of you read the official website, but just thought I would stick this up on here and try and promote it a little more. Tell your wives, girlfriends and mistresses about the Fashion Show ...it'll get you in their good books ...especially if you offer to pay!

The Pilgrim Lounge will play host to some important midweek events.

The club’s fashion show and sale will take place on Wednesday evening — aimed primarily at ladies.

Tickets remain on sale — priced £5 each (including first drink FREE) — with the event getting under way at 7.30pm.

On Thursday evening, The Pilgrim Lounge will host a taster evening for the all-new Pilgrims Super Draw.

Supporters with an interest in the Super Draw are welcome to attend to find out more about the club’s latest fundraiser.

Representatives of Super Draw will be on hand to answer questions and hand out promotional literature. A light buffet will also be available for those in attendance.

Meanwhile, the club’s World Cup coverage gets under way on Friday afternoon.

The Pilgrim Lounge will be showing both matches live on Friday, with South Africa v Mexico at 3.00pm being followed by Uruguay v France at 7.30pm.
