utterly shameful...... >:(
We're at the business end of the best season for 3 years and barely 1100 can be bothered to turn up.
Do we deserve a successful team?
Or do we accept our core support is about 900 these days topped up with a couple of hundred floating fans?
-
Agree.....
I too was disappointed with todays attendance of 1133.
How on earth do we get the regular 1500 back?
The club deserves better.
-
Thought it was a bit thin, but then I'd (wrongly) heard 1300 (or so I thought), but yeah, piss poor attendance for a big home game.
Yet you watch them all crawl out of the woodwork if we had a midweek playoff semi to get up for.
If we can't get 1500+ for Ferriby, then frankly we don't deserve a Conference team
-
I'm shocked it was that low to be honest. Meeting up with Johnny, Adam and Chris in the pub beforehand, it had the feel of a big game about it... I mean, Christ, if Adam and I bothered to come back for it, I reasoned, this must be 1300-1500 type game.
WRONG!
-
Have to agree, and im pleased others do. Today was a shambolic attendance
-
Easter holidays anyone?
-
IF we never had the likes of MILLER attendances would be a lot less.
only one of last seasons players started SWD correct me if wrong but it took 2 of last seasons players to come on and finish them off. ;)
-
Beat Leamington on Saturday then a turn out of 1500 on Easter Monday.
I'm sure we'll get a playoff semi final attendance like last time against Guisely.
Will be keeping an eye on the Guisely result mid week.

Only the same as all teams outside the Premiership . People have not got the cash to spend .
Take Peterborough for example many gates around the 6500 mark often including 100s of visiting fans .
And they have been in the Div 1 play-offs all season .
A few of us on here will recall going to Midland League matches there with gates 9k +

£28 to watch the Posh, so it's never cheap watching them!
I do think an element of cost comes into play especially when times are difficult, families/couples have lots of alternative options where to spend their cash and maybe do things together, take Easter Monday, lots of families will be visiting the coast and I already have my tickets for Market Rasen races.

We're now competing with the TV armchair fan thats supported Man City 'for years.'
We're into the era of dads that grew up with Sky rather than live football, so kids ain't gonna come to games as their dads won't bring them. Most start when there dad drags them along to stand in the cold.

Good comment Lord CB, totally agree with you.

How many of the Boston public do go Andy. Around where I sit there are people that regularly travel from Skeggy, Peterborough, Burton on Trent, London, Spilsby, Leicester and Nottingham. Like you say, just a pity a few more on the doorstep can't turn up.
