Title: Skeletons to hold up the Quadrant.
Post by: qwerty on July 20, 2014, 11:41:48 AM
Lincolnshire Heritage have descovered that Roman remains have been identified
within the proposed Quadrant site.

While not objecting to the planning application they are advising that a scheme of works be carried out before any construction can begin if planning is granted.

Probably the remains of a car driver that sadly passed away whilst trying to get in to town!  ::)

Check the grassy knoll and the chips and curry.  :bunny

Thought you would know that, o fount of all knowledge. I think it is the developers, after all they are making the profit. Probably stick it on the price of the houses. QED

The Archaeological Assessment of the Quadrant site can be found here:

http://thequadrantboston.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Archaeological-Desk-Based-Assessment.pdf (http://thequadrantboston.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Archaeological-Desk-Based-Assessment.pdf)

In summary a few fragments of roman pottery were found in the north west of the site in 1995, so there may be a roman settlement nearby. So an archaeological field evaluation is recommended when planning permission is granted. Fairly standard stuff - shouldn't take much effort.

They've also spotted that there's a Grade I church tower visible from the site just 2.5km away. :)

That's a hell of a long driveway through the gate leading to West Skirbeck Housee. who lives there?
Huge grounds running up to Garfit's Lane.

Used to play in those grounds as kids  - with the Dell family (rip Kevin). Think it all used to be occupied by various members of their family.
